We stopped for breakfast here, as part of our Route 66, and it was a highlight. Pity we could only stay here for an hour or so. Parking was also part of the experience, I loved ready the signs. As soon as we entered we were immersed in the experience, it was clear that most were locals, but we were... More

I've only had breakfast here, so hopefully other meals are of better quality. I was disappointed with a $15 "meat lovers" breakfast" that included one inedible piece of sausage, a small piece of ham, and a piece of bacon. Seemed really expensive for the serving size and quality. Service was very slow and hash browns were soggy.. I liked that... More

Typical omlet and pancake small town breakfast place. Food was good (not exceptional).......ZI would have no problem eating breakfast here every day. Everything is decorated "Red, White and Blue including the sugar! Service was good and prices were reasonable.

We were visting some friends in Alpine and went too lunch before we got the road. It was a bit over priced on some items (9 bucks for hotdogs and grilled cheeses). I had the fried chicken sandwich. Gotta love a places that "grills" the buns. Everythi,g else was good as well.

We stopped in here by complete chance and almost backed out the door upon reading that sign telling hippies to use the backdoor! I'm not a hippie, but I don't consider myself much of a Republican anymore either. You will definitely be more comfortable in this establishment if you toe the Republican party line though! :D All that being said,... More

Great food, goodly portions, good service and loads of memorabilia on the shelves and walls to keep you occupied for hours. If passing this way and feeling peckish, the Yankee Doodle Cafe is an ideal place to stop.

This is a unique little restaurant. It was quite busy as there aren't too many to choose from in Alpine. We ate dinner and then breakfast here the next morning. Food was good and prices were reasonable. I'd recommend it.

Stopped in for breakfast and our friendly server came immediately with water. Food didn't take long to come and was pretty good. Two in our party had omelets and enjoyed. I had the corned beef hash and it was tasty. Place seemed to be hopping the night before too, and the locals definitely come here.

Wife had an omelet which was ok. My scrambled eggs (mostly lace) were average. But I asked the waitress to make sure the hash browns were cooked thru. They came? All white and barely warm. I'm assuming since we were not locals, that is what they serve whoever. The diet pepsi and coffee was good.
