Excellent Portuguese food with some sophistication. Try the octopus, the shrimp curry, the alheira or the shrimp açorda. Reasonable wine prices. Also great desserts. Good service

A simple restaurant with excellent dishes, especially if you like bacalhão (cod). Servings are generous and you can usually split a plate if you had an appetizer. The wine list is extensive and has something for everyone. And to top it off, they've got great desserts. A very affordable Portuguese restaurant in São Paulo!

Like Greek food, Portuguese food is delicious in theory but rarely in practice. Sao Paulo has had two very good Portuguese restaurants for a while (Antiquarius and then its breakaway rival Bela Sintra) but you needed to be seriously rich or seriously corrupt to be able to afford either. Tasca is thus the SP outpost of a Portuguese chef with... More

Great genuine Portuguese food in the middle of Sao Paulo, small place but with a great menu and really attentive service. All the dishes were excellent. Really worth it.

We had the 7 dish chef menu and it was sensational. The waiter explained us every single traditional portugués meal. High quality food so beautifully presented. Simply delicious.

If you want to feel in Lisbon in Sao Paulo is the closest you can get. Very good food made with clear expertise and good ingredients with minor touches of modernity and creativity. Excellent comfort food with sympathetic, not always efficient, service. A place to visit with family or friends to have fun, enjoy and not being oppressed by luxurious... More

Tasca da Esquina is a gastronomical restaurant well known to initiated locals. It has been strongly recommended as a highlight, and it has certainly lived up to this reputation. Reservation is mandatory, and it must be said that it is not among the cheap eating places, the price of tasting menus is between 100-160 reais. Our tasting menu (7 courses... More

Don't be fooled by the picture above - this is a lovely little tapas restaurant in the Jardins area of Sao Paolo. We went on our last day of holiday and left wishing we'd found it earlier because we would definitely have eaten there again if we'd had the time. The service is good and the food outstanding. It was... More

Staying in Jardins

Neighbourhood Profile
Jardins
Located just below important Paulista Avenue, Jardins is the junction of four smaller neighbourhoods: Jardim Paulista, Jardim América, Jardim Europa and Jardim Paulistano. It is an upper-class area, offering a variety of things to do, including shopping, museums and parks. The neighbourhood is well known for “Oscar Freire”– the most luxurious street in the city, packed with high-end boutiques. In Jardins you will also find a trendy museum, São Paulo Museum of Image and Sound (MIS), which people often line up for hours to visit. If green space is what you're after, take time to relax at Trianon Park, a refuge in the heart of Paulista Avenue.
