The Tea Shoppe had been recommended, so our small family group decided to make the drive to Mt. Laurel, south of Birmingham. (A side note, mapquest cannot be relied on; it sent two of us in the wrong direction once inside the village. Turn right on Olmsted St.) The restaurant is open Thursday - Saturday from 11:00 until 4:00 (summer... More

My family and I came in for afternoon tea on a Saturday. We ordered the high tea (I think) which came with a tiered tray full of sandwiches, sweets, and fresh fruit. Prior to the tray coming out, we were served a hot scone with homemade lemon curd, homemade strawberry jam, and homemade cream. Oh my word the scone and... More

I visited with my daughter recently for lunch. It was almost full and only one waitress, but we didn't mind waiting. I was surprised to see the menu is quite different and more extensive than the one on the website (they need to update the website!). I ordered chicken salad, which was a generous portion and very good. My daughter... More

Birmingham's best little secret. Delicious food and teas. The owners are so attentive and thoughtful. I recommend calling ahead and making a reservation.

This place is, in my opinion, one of the very best restaurants in Birmingham. It is open from Wednesday to Saturday from 11AM to 2PM. It's located in the community of Mt Laurel which is south on 280, then take 41 to Mt Laurel. I like the buffet which is on Fridays. It is really what I would call gourmet.... More

This was the most wonderful lunch I have ever had. My mom loves tea rooms so we decided to take my daughter and try it out. The people there are genuinely sweet, and the service was excellent. The potato soup and pimiento cheese were unbelievable. Yum yum! Plus my daughter had a great time, and was given her own little... More

The Townhouse is a charming restaurant in the "business district" in the village of Mt. Laurel. It's a little "out of the way" if you don't live in that area, but...who cares? Worth the drive! It's open Wednesday to Saturday from 11-2. (They also have a party room for theme parties for little girls --- It looks like a Disneyland-type... More

After 6 weeks of biz travel up n down the interstate system of the southeastern US, I was road weary and particularly weary of chain restaurants and those mom n pop cafes that are "the best" places to eat in small towns. Making my way toward Birmingham, I was tickled to learn that one last tea shoppe was still in... More

This is my second time to eat @ The Townhouse. The first time I had the tea tray. I had a delicious tomato soup. I also ate a lavender sconce. On my tea tray, I had fruits, an array of mini desserts and a chicken salad sandwich and tuna sald in a tomato. It is an atmosphere of tranquility. Unlike... More
