I had the smoked chicken plate with a side of cheese grits. Everything tasted great. The banana pudding is sooooo tasty! Like the other reviews said, it's a very small place with a steady flow of people coming in and out, even at 2:30 in the afternoon.

Saw's soul kitchen had been well reviewed so we decided to try it on our visit to Birmingham. The restaurant although eclectic is quite run down. There are other very nice restaurants in the vicinity. The food was fine, although in my opinion a little pricey for what you get. The food was served on styrofoam plates with plastic knives... The place is tiny but is by far the best food we had while in town. Everything was delicious. My mom had just the veggie plate, my dad had the sausage plate with fried green tomatoes and I had the pulled pork with fried pickles. Be prepared for cramped spaces and a line out the door but they move and... More

If you're looking for a gourmet dining experience, this isn't the place. But if you're looking for AMAZING BBQ, go to Saw's Soul Kitchen. We love BBQ and have eaten at a number of really good BBQ places across the country. For us, Saw's is #1. That delicious smoked flavor is really cooked into the meat. We love the Pulled... More

Great Food. Small and quaint venue. Outside seating when weather permits is best option. Because of it's location, there are options for drinks within walking distance and the Brewery next door often has music events. Off street parking behind or limited on street parking available.

I found this place on Tripadviser and stop there when passing through to New Orleans with my family. It was the best food we had the whole trip. It is a hole in the wall type place with a great atmosphere. We all had the pulled pork sandwich. I definitely recommend eating here.

My twenty something kids and I made a stop at Sw's to try the heralded BBQ. We drove through a rough neighborhood to get there midday - but nothing that would cause concern for your safety. When we arrived at Saw's, it was in a gentrified portion of town with several other restaurants and clubs nearby. The facility is very... More

This is a newer place in an old building. Has a great "hole in the wall" feel. The day we went, there was a line almost out the door, but the service was quick and friendly. The food was very good and it was a great stop on our trip to AL. If you are looking for a fancier BBQ... More

I was brought to this place by a friend. Driven by this place many times but really never noticed it. After encountering a very rude and obnoxious host, I ordered my food. Had a Sawburger and onion rings. I must say the food was very very good. Burger is probably the best I've ever had. Onion rings were delicious. I'll... More

The BBQ was amazing! All 9 of us loved our meals -- especially anything with pulled pork! The special platter was an amazing amount of food -- cheese grits topped with collard greens, a mountain of pulled pork and fried onions. The pulled pork loaded baked potato was unbelievable (but if you don't like sour cream, remember to order without... More
