Decent food+ Ivor=5 stars

We were reluctant to have dinner here as we thought it seemed a bit too touristy but none of the smaller restaurants had impressed us so far we decided to give it a go. Our waiter Ivor was hilarious, full of fun and very happy so the atmosphere was already very nice and friendly. The food was very nice too and both my wife and I agreed it was the best we've had while here in Cavtat.. I don't give 5 star reviews often and although our food was good I would of scored this restaurant 4 based on food alone but when Ivor is your waiter you get a little bit more than just a good meal so it's 5 stars from us.

Average at best and deceptive pricing

As many have said before a bit naughty bringing bread and pate then charging. Be aware that the prices for steaks and many other dishes are just for the meat and you then have to add your own sides. Not even veg or salad was served with it. The food was ok but not as good as many other restaurants around the same area.

Lovely Restaurant.

Ate here once and so enjoyed the food and the ambiance we went back the following day. Sadly had to fly back to UK after that. It is a lovely family run restaurant with attentive waiters and a very large menu located near the harbour, so there is something for every palate from fish, prawns and chicken to pizzas and salad. The family also run a Boutique Hotel just opposite the restaurant.

Walk along port to Konobu Cavtat instead!!!

Avoid this tourist trap of a restaurant. Don’t usually leave reviews good or bad but felt we need to warn other unsuspecting tourists. No idea how the reviews for this place are good as we were so disappointed. Unfortunately even though we wanted to like the restaurant due to location, everything about it was just awful. The staff were very pushy and clearly know what they are doing in regards to taking advantage of tourists. Firstly we were refused tap water and told we had to buy a bottle, even though every other restaurant in Cavtat provided tap water on request. Then we were given bread,butter and tuna pate which we though was nice and complimentary only after eating it did they tell us it was €2 for bread €2 for butter and also €2 for pate! The starters were expensive and awful. I had mozzarella buratta which was a wet ball of mozzarella mixed with some brown lettuce and an old tomato - no balsamic or any attempt at a drizzle of oil and this was €10. My other half had prawns in a cheese sauce which was meant to be prawns in white wine! This was €15!! Then mains I paid €18 for shrimp in tagliatelle, I only had 3 prawns (not even shrimp) in my pasta which was a rip off. Other half had what was claimed to be ‘best lasagne in Cavtat’ which was truly awful, so much cheese sauce and hardly any lasagne sheets. In total this came to around €79 for lunch and we were truly disappointed and wish we hadn’t bothered. The only nice part were the cokes we ordered (although took them 15mins to actually arrive at the table especially as the restaurant was quiet at this time too). Truly a rip off and tourist trap avoid at all costs! Walk along the port for an extra 5 mins to Konobu Cavtat which was the best meal we have eaten, was cheaper and hope to return again to!!

Poor quality food, service & overpriced.

Ordered oysters but was then told didn’t have any. Substituted with fish soup which was very thin & tasteless. Ordered medium cooked fillet steak, when it came the blood was all over the plate in the sauce. Explained with difficulty to the waiter how this was inedible. The steak was returned & heated back up with blood removed. This took 5 minutes in which time my own meal was eaten. So in essence we ate alone. Another waiter took our knives to replace with steak knives but never returned. Asked for tap water but were given bottled water at cost. Was all expensive, quality poor, service lacking. Very poor.

Lovely meal

Lovely meal with plenty of fresh fish. We decided to share a starter of seafood risotto and it’s a good job we did - was the size of a main course!! We were given a complimentary tuna pate appetiser before hand so by the time our mains came we were pretty full! I had the fish platter with veg and partner had e seafood pasta, washed down with a litre of house wine. All for £65 👍🏻 Well worth a visit

Friendly welcome bur felt a bit like we were being treated as chumps

Nice spot near the harbour. Friendly waitress promoting the menu. Portions a little on the small side for our liking. But if you are a relatively light eater, this may not be a problem. We objected to being told we couldn’t have a jug of tapwater because, somewhat incredibly, we were told it had been raining a little during the day so the tapwater wasn’t trustworthy. Sounded like a dodgy line to upsell people to a bottle of water at 5 euros. Even though we had ordered a couple of glasses of wine. Plenty of other restaurants in Croatia have been perfectly willing to provide a jug of tapwater. Also, before food had arrived, waiter brought over a basket of bread and some small tuna pate pots without our requesting these. We asked if there was a charge for this, and he said it was €2.65 per person. We sent them back. Overall, feels like they are trying to squeeze every cent out of you.

Wonderful waitress

Walking through the beautiful town of Cavtat and came upon this lovely restaurant. Thought it sounded good for us and our two fussy children. We were served by Mihaela( hope I spelt it correctly) what a fab lady. Professional but so warm and caring. She couldn't do enough for us. The food was amazing I had sea bass, the hubby had steak and kiddies spaghetti in tomato sauce and all was devoured. The whole meal including wine and desserts was a little over £100 which sounds a lot maybe but the quality was worth it. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Was in Croatia last week with 2 friends and we ate here twice. We received a warm welcome from the very smiley and friendly staff and the service was nothing short of excellent. Very good fish pate and bread as a cover and then we all had fillet steak , cooked perfectly ( 2 rare ,1 well done) and the sides of grilled vegetables and rosemary potatoes were beautiful. With wine and water and all that food it was around £100 for the table.really great value considering the standard of food and service. Highly recommend.

Fantastic Restaurant one of the best in Cavtat.

Lovely little Restaurant on the corner of the promenade,fantastic staff and service,food excellent,so good we went twice in a week,which is unusual for us as we like to try different places. Off the Allacarte menu the prawns and Rissoto are excellent the prawns are melt in the mouth that tender and Risotto is so full of flavour. The set menus we had the 4 course 49 euro one on our second visit started off with class with an orange marmalade glaze cooked to perfection,followed by a seafood risotto which was full of mussels,prawns,calamari,clam very tasty. Followed by lamb with Rosemary potatoes the lamb was cooked perfectly the little potatoes were delicious,desert was a creme with a lovely cherry coule and an outstanding vanilla ice cream,absolutely fantastic well definitely go back next time we're in Cavtat,unfortunately probably not for a year or so tho.

We visited as part of a day trip and choose this restaurant on the basis of the friendly approach when we were viewing the menu. The quality of the food and the friendly service did not disappoint. I would highly recommend if you are in the area and would certainly return.

A Memorable Night!

What to say about an already great restaurant and hotel? Dalmacija hit it out of the park for our daughter's wedding rehearsal dinner party. We had 127 guests fly in, and they handled the entire event seamlessly from start to finish! Everyone was served delicious seafood starters, salads, grilled fish, beef, wine, cocktails, etc. It was all excellent, and served in such a warm, friendly way. A beautiful, memorable evening, in a beautiful setting. And we can't forget the desserts, all house-made wonders! Shout-out to family Mandric's daughter, Andrea, she even made our wedding cake for the next day. It was a simply sublime combination of lemons from their garden together with almonds - layered with goodness! Thanks from our family to yours for being part of our special weekend! <3

Overpriced and lacked quality

We’ve eaten at a number of places in Cavtat this week and this is probably the least impressive experience. We went for fixed price menus and house red but didn’t feel we got value for money or that the food was nearly as good as the rest that we’ve had. The waiters were friendly even though they were clearly running around. We wouldn’t go back but perhaps with choices from the a la carte menu others would have a better experience.

Our favourite restaurant and meal in a week! Super service and food here. All the staff were friendly and really helpful. The food was delicious- lasagne the biggest ever and fillet steak tat melted in the mouth. Local wine recommended by the waiter was excellent. Definitely visit this restaurant for a super experience.

This was probably one of our favourite meals. We had the lamb chops which were presented so well and cooked perfectly. We also had the mixed meat as a main and the pork was particularly good. House red wine went down well.
