Traditional, family-run, with warm, friendly service. Not cheap. I took the gregada (a type of fish stew, with (in effect) steamed white fish on top of stewed vegetables. It may have been a traditional Hvar version, but the vegetables underneath seemed to be just potato and peppercorns. I ate a much nicer gregada later, at a cheap restaurant in Split

Worse meal of our 2 weeks in croatia/slovenia ... our only "disappointing" meal I would say! Got there to get authentic food ! At first, we thought we made a good choice. Waiter was great, special atmosphere in the small restaurant downstairs (terrasse upstairs was closed). Home wine was good. Starter was really good (they call it bruschetta, but it... More

We found this place in Lonely Planet. We tend to follow their recommendations and never disappoints....it was the case again. The place is a familiar place. They only offered 4 dishes, we tried 2 of them and were delicious. They also made their own red and white wines and the olive oil. The waiter was kind and very chatty. We... More

We could tell some people were enjoying the vibe, but we seemed to slip through the net. Waited ages for ok food that was very pricey. Staff told us they had been poor and then offered us nothing off the bill. Worst of our 5 meals here.

The guide books told us to go to the restaurant above this one- which I am sure is delicious- but it was very crowded at the time and we decided to stay at this spot. In the guide books it lists the spot at tapas which is incorrect. This is a restaurant all on it's own and it is absolutely... More

Gorgeous traditional Konobo with fabulous food & wine. Not to be missed. We had sardine starter then fried prawns & fish stew. Home made wives washed it down Delicious Fabulously polite & friendly service as well We will go back again tonight !

Home cooked meals done very well. The waiter was very attentive and gives you a complete run through of the blackboard menu. Very authentic and cozy surroundings away from the main strip. Bruschetta and octopus were fantastic.

We were looking for the real thing and after a week of pizza and burger joints, finally stumbled upon genuine home style Croatian style cooking.

This place always looked busy, and was recommended by a local - so we ate downstairs one night where they do the local dishes. The gentleman who owns it was very helpful and gives a brilliant run down of the dishes with humour and enthusiasm. We had the octopus and the goulash - both of which were outstanding. They are...
