My favorite coffee place in town. Delicious coffee from the Intag region. Also, a wonderful selection of fair trade goods that would make great gifts. It's a nice place to relax with friends and enjoy some coffee.

I have been going to La Casa de Intag for many years now, for the great fair trade organic and totally delicious coffee, which is actually the coffee served at Casa Mojanda and in my home. (I am so lucky to live near Otavalo). Usually we go in for a cappuccino, and then stock up on shampoo, conditioners, creams, soaps,... More

After completing a long trek through the Intag valley, descending through the Paramo to the cloud forest, we were recommended by Chasqui Treks' owner and main guide; Peter and Milton, to visit their coffee and gift shop in Otavalo. It's ran by Milton's family, and the profits go directly to their village and help them in the battle to preserve... More

Hungry for pancakes and a smooth soothing cup of coffee, this is the place. Highly recommended. Buy some Intag coffee to go and for gifts. Very comfortable and welcoming, good location

I had heard about the Intag community that is located about 60 km from Otavalo, so when I saw the shop I went in. They sell cosmetics, coffee among other things. I bought a bar of soap and a small bag of coffee. Nice presents to bring back home: fair traded and unique.

With so many options, I did not know what to go with! I I ended up having a delicious cafe con leche! I was also able to learn more about how to visit the coffee fincas which I did end up doing in Apuela. The store has a lot of artisan work from Intag like the soaps from El Rosal,... More

Charming cafe with Intag coffee. A larger menu would be appreciated. The coffee is very good, but overpriced.

This small and very friendly oasis provided me and friends with a magnificent lunch of crepes and blackberry sauce, followed by a scrumptuous apple pie, plus fine and much needed café con leche, and with charm and readiness.

A artesanel cafe pushing the "If you shop here you´ll save the world" message. Coffee was good, chocolate good quality but expensive as it was fairtrade.

A fair-trade coffee shop, La Casa de Intag sells delicious coffee (both whole bean and ground) from the beautiful Intag region, an area of cloud forest a few hours north-west of Otavalo. Sit down and sip on a steaming hot cup of coffee, or buy some to take home. La Casa de Intag serves breakfasts, pancakes, lunch, sandwiches, cakes, and chocolates. You can purchase artisan crafts, handmade soap, and natural shampoos and creams, all of which are made by the people of Intag. La Casa de Intag also has wifi available for customers to use.

This store and cafe was formed when the threat of mining projects in the biodiverse Intag Valley spurred the Intag communities to develop sustainable economic alternatives to mining. A collaboration of Mujer y Medio Ambiente (a womens' handicraft cooperative), AACRI Coffee (an organic fair trade coffee cooperative), and DECOIN (Defensa y Conservacion Ecologica de Intag) work to make La Casa de Intag possibile. All profits benefit the communities in the Intag region.
