Hotel and restaurant are built in traditional Siwan style and it is right besides Shali, the old Siwa fortress. The location is absolutely supperb. Food is excellent. Salama is an excellent manager.

Honestly not the cleanest place, the room was downright filthy when I arrived. The sheets weren't changed and they were stained, the bathroom was a disgusting mess with the previous resident's "trash" still there. No such thing as house keeping exists. However on the plus side the view from the top of the ancient fortress hotel is amazing, the staff... More

Hotel has a unique style. It is built the same old SIWA way . It is next to the historical SHALI fort. Food is great & terrace in the night is very nice.

Lovely architecture and exotic food. The view from the top floor cafeteria is fascinating. Salama the music, manager, is the kindest soul that walked this earth.

The restaurant is upstairs, and looks out on the town. The prices are on par with other places in town, maybe a little higher (still cheap). The restaurant was empty, so there was no ambiance. Service was mostly absent, gone downstairs, so there was no chance to ask for anything we needed. Camel stew had great broth; the camel meat--two... More

We ate here several times in 2011. Remembering how much we liked the food and atmosphere, we tried it again in 2012. The food remains good, though a local friend says it has been spotty with ups and downs. That was not our experience. We had our favorite camel stew and it was delicious. We ordered a soup. After what... More

Good service, Lovely seating areas with traditional low cusions and tables. Upstairs restaurant was great value and in a fantastic place. Went for dinner and the whole fortress is lit up at night right next to this restaurant / hotel. The shop selling organic jams and syrups is brilliant. Palm syrup is great on pancakes.
