Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Breakfast at RimLae during Covid 19 was unusual . Guests had choices from the menu and all dishes were great . Recommended dish could be pork porridges . French toasts were delicious .

The venue is located on the North Sairee Beach in the Koh Tao Cabana Resort. The restaurant is nicely furnished and has a great view into the bay. The menu is medium sized and the prices are more on the upper side. I had a Grasshopper as cocktail which was a little too sweet. We ordered Crab Cake as starter but the waiter misunderstood us and forgot it. We had green curry, king prawns and a whole fish. The curry was good as the prawns was. The fish was too sweet for my taste. The service was nice.

We were for dinner and it was the best food & service on the hole island so far. It's perfect for a romantic dinner far away from the Teenie Party trouble. Typical very very good Thai food & also international food!!! We recommend 100%

Lovely place. Great location. Quirky atmosphere. Food was delicious. Drinks were to a good standard. The service was slow though- we waited quite a while for food to come.

Great food and beautiful restaurant with superb location. And excellent service! Highly recommendable. We enjoyed a great meal of thai food and good talks with the people working there.

We ate here twice during our four day stay at the Koh Tao Cabana Resort. We had lunch our first day and I got a hamburger and the hamburger patty fell almost entirely apart to where I couldn't eat it like a hamburger and the quality of the meat was very poor. My husband got the club sandwich which was fine, but very dry and plain. The next morning we had breakfast here and we each got an omelette which was very obviously made from liquid eggs instead of real eggs. Additionally, the fresh cut fruit from the buffet even had very little taste. After these two experiences, despite the fact that we are staying in the resort in which the restaurant is located, we decided to eat out in the town for every remaining meal. We don't recommend eating here, there are many other delicious options on the island.

You always pay double at the well located restaurants - that's just the way it is. But the western food here is actually not that expensive compared to other places. We were here for lunch - I had fish and chips and my wife had a tuna sandwich. Both were quite good and somewhat made from scratch... For a 5-star fish and chips, however, I would expect homemade fries and a better tartar-sauce - It lacked capers and pickles and flavor to be honest. The service is awesome and the waiters have obviously had some real training, which is rather rare in Koh Tao - and the restaurant itself is a perfect place to chill and take in the view and the waves.

We are a bit picky so have been trying to find nice places to eat in Koh Tao other than on the back of Saree Beach where you need to be 12 to feel at home. To be fair Rimlae is on Saree Beach just at the northern most point. This is the best restaurant we have found so far. It is a spectacular restaurant with different levels and buildings under thatched rooves or you can eat on the deck in the open. There are also sit on the floor options - not as far to fall if you have too many cocktails. The restaurant was not busy so we had the pick of the tables. Service was attentive and the food very good. We started with Tom Yum Goong which we are eating everywhere we go to see how it varies. This version was good maybe a bit sweet for western tastes to be considered authentic. We then had prawns in garlic butter - even for Aussies these were big prawns and delicious. We also had whole fried sea bass dressed with a mix of Thai herbs and spices which was unusual and very good. We finished with sweet sticky rice and banana which was nice. Total cost including 2 cocktails 2,000baht. Well worth going

Just came back from having dinner over there, you have the best view and nice restaurant , the food not so bad either, a bit pricey but you pay for the view and location. Nicely decorated inside, looks so romantic at night . They also charge 7% for VAT or service charge, not so sure. But all in all, one of eating places you can't miss in Koh Tao.

Away from the Sairee beach party going crowd, this lovely restaurant does not disappoint whether large or small groups of one. I came here years ago and revisiting this place did not disappoint! Excellent service, great seating near the shore edge, yummy food and appealing presentation. Absolutely coming back and not to be missed if staying on Sairee beach!

Wanting to seclude ourselves a little from the noisy beach, my girlfriend and I found Rimlae to be the perfect match. We tried the BBQ barracuda and king prawns with a sweet peach sparkling wine that our amazing waiter Win agreed on. I have been living in Bangkok for 3 months and Win was the best waiter I've met here, thank you!

Located at the far end of Sairee Beach, so well away from the beachside rave music, fire spinning and the drunken teenagers associated with these activities. The food was excellent but the views and ambience were amazing. We dined a number of times during our visit and always sat on the Thai style cushion mats to eat and enjoy views across the bay. A special thank you to a waitress called Aye, who was very helpful and attentive she looked after us really well each time we fined there.

My girlfriend and I discovered Rimlae on our first night in Koh Tao but having already eaten, instead vowed to come back the next night. We weren't disappointed. We had the pick of the tables and sat on what was pretty much a balcony hanging out over the rocks and sand, with the waves lapping beneath. The place was decked in fairy lights giving it a beuatifully romantic quality. The food was top notch - some of the best we had in our Thai stay - and the service also up to the same standard. Definitely recommended.
