There's a bonfire in the middle but of course taken by a group, I feel awkward if we suddenly join their table. Other tables have tall heaters, it heats upwards if you are sitting down you don't really feel the warm and Chookie's does not...More

Went today after a climb up 500 steps to the top of Mau Cave. Such a chilled hangout. Good prices. Lots of relaxed travellers just sitting in the various seating from loungers to benches to sofa style. Very nice and relaxed atmosphere. Had some Bun...More

Had a nice cold beer and a wonderful burger..plus they had Heinz tomato ketchup. Full of unhappy looking backpackers..but then again I have never seen a happy backpacker

More expensive than most restaurants in the area, but excellent if you’re looking for a western break. Falafel burger was great, setting is cool and relaxed.

Chookie's just moved to their new location and it is perfect. Friendly owner and plenty of space in a secluded courtyard in walking distance of the train station. Open air or near the fireplace? Both options available. A nice playground for the kids. Food was...More

Really enjoyed this place. Good menu and cocktails for reasonable prices. Tasty burgers, nice (not great) pizza’s, great springrolls and decent salads so basically anyone should be able to find a nice dish here. I think this is also the only place with a decent...More

This was conveniently across the road from our hotel - we had lunch and dinner there & were pleased with the food. The burgers are really good (the vegetarian one was delicious), served with great chips. The staff are really helpful.

Do apologize for that. Actually the restaurant is based on local business and by family business. So that somehow owner could have family reason caused closing time changed but it is not usual.
