This seafood restaurant is located in an isolated place away from the maddening crowd. The food was reasonably priced but i found the beer quite expensive @Rm 20 per bottle. Firstly, this is your typical seafood place without a/c, plastic covered tables and rural atmosphere....Nevertheless the food was decent and satisfactorily good. Our dish comprise Paku veg, mantis prawn, fish, Lala, steam prawns total RM240 without beer.More

Was caught off guard by the number of good reviews on this seafood restaurant when the food was below average. We ordered clay-pot tofu, stewed vegetable, salted egg crab and oyster omelette. Vegetable was overripe. The clay-pot tofu was tasteless. The salted egg crab was...average and only the oyster omelette was worth the wait. Cleanliness was below average littered with bits of food waste.More

We ordered 2kg worth of crabs due to some circumstances of their normal ones being sold out, and some lala clams. The people there were very friendly. Ambience was just so so with dogs roaming around but the flavour of the food were superb, very...spot on and delicious Would definitely recommend this place if you are interested in those who serve their food with love.More

We enjoyed the seafood dinner in Soon Huat Restaurant during our short trip to PD. The location is near the jetty and for those first-timer, it is recommended to use Waze to reach here. The food is undoubtedly delicious as other reviews and I fully...agreed that the freshness of the seafood. Giving the quality of food, I think the price is deemed reasonable. The only downside I would iterate was there were a group of wild dogs wandering around which made the kids a bit nervous during the dinner.More

2 adults and 2 kids Fried sambal fern / 2 crabs salted egg / steam egg prawns / baby squid / kam heong lala. $205 I would rate this place above average. Indicated the price as its subjective if its pricey...... crab was good, it...was cooked just right. Some versions are too sweet. This is savoury which i like. Thr prawns were very fresh and cooked just right. Overcooked prawns even if fresh is horrid so they did a good job with the prawns. The location is very secluded and the road leading to the joint is very narrow. Its just a sheltered place serving food so can be misleading if you call it a restaurant. Many flies and stray dogs. My car was also scratch by on coming car when i left.More

Located by the jetty. Seafood are fresh. Portion vs price (value) are reasonable but please mentioned the portion size during ordering as you don't want to be surprise when the food comes to the table.

Charming little place. Food was great. Portion size was great too. Service very friendly. Typical kelong type experience so if you expect fancy table cloths and fine dining go spend a shed load of money elsewhere. Sweet and sour pork was excellent, no fat just...lean meat and the salted egg squid wasight a crispy. The kids want to go back again tonight.More

It's normal restaurant next to a river. They served fresh seafood. Price moderately to high. They served rice with dishes only. There's no fried rice / noodles available. We had steam prawn, marmite sotong, stir fried brocolli, yong tau fu soup, total RM105.00 for family...of 2 adults and 2 toddlers.More

Our order : Vegetables : 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Sweet and sour crab : 🌟🌟🌟🌟 (Worth the price) Salted egg fried sotong : 🌟 (Over salty) Steam Fish : 🌟🌟🌟 (1KG - half side of fish - RM70) Kam Hiong Lala : 🌟🌟🌟🌟 (Nice. Big lala) Service :...🌟 Alot of mosquito at night time, we request lighter for so many time to burn the mosquito incense. The staff “okok” then no appear. At last my friend directly go to counter to get it. (This is just a small case) We order for sweet and sour crab but serve after an hour without any inform by the staff. After half an hour we ask the staff they just told us the crab just send in by their supplier. So have to wait. Oh gosh!! Why didnt inform us early. We keep on waiting and thinking maybe too much of customer thats why delay. 😅😅 but worst for it to wait for our crab. The taste is nice and big crab.More

I read reviews before I actually visited this place. I was very skeptical and not sure whether to bring my family here for lunch. It was quite secluded. When we arrived, we just sat and ordered. Anticipating swarms of flies, dogs and etc but there...was actually only 1 fly flying around and 1 stray dog passby. I think people have given this place unreasonable reviews. The price is reasonable, service was without a smile but it was courteous. They attended to us whenever we called them. We ordered: - mini sotong marmite (YUMMY! price is higher than expected RM35 but it was good! hard to find these type of sotong) - steamed red snapper (good and the price only RM78 for a 1.2kg fish, we ate clean clean) - sweet sour crab (3 crabs around 2kg plus, RM80 per kg. Reasonable. Crabs are huge and the sweet sour sauce we wiped clean. It was so good and fresh!) - steamed egg with 10 prawns (RM48. the prawns very fresh. it was good too) - stirfry veggies (2 types, RM9 each, very reasonable) - fu yong tan (kids wiped them clean) - kam heong lala (the lala big and fresh. they added lemongrass and it is quite refreshing) - 6 rice for 10 pax (7 adults 3 kids) - 4 coconuts - 9 apple semboi and kedondong semboi There are two basins to wash hands with soap provided. total was RM450. I would say it is very reasonable and the food is good and thumbs up! We have no problem coming back again. Please do give them a visit before you judge them by the reviews. Please be fair to them. The seafood is really fresh and good. Keep it up Soon Huat!More
