Must try the local food stalls upstairs!! They are super economical with a large portion that's so satisfying! Not to forget to bring some fresh seafood back home on flight hehe

The market is well worth visiting, as a foreigner you may observe local people's life and plenty of fruit, vegetables and food items you might have never seen before. The back part belongs to a fish market, which is also very interesting. People are friendly, not intrusive at all, even if you don't want to buy anything. Better to visit in... More

I came here to get some fresh fruit, 2 apples and 3 oranges for 3MYR which wasn't bad! I had a look around the place too, they have alot of dried fish, seeds & spices, fresh meats and also veggies. Not much else to see other than that, but worth a look to get a sense of the place, or... More

Get down here about 0530 and watch the mayhem that is the fish market. Great to see the trawlers offloading their catch of fresh fish, prawns, etc. Then head up to the second floor and have a great cheap breakfast of kway teow.

Located at the 2nd floor of this market, there's is one stall selling homemade Kueh Teow with deep fried pork. The texture of the kueh teow is so smooth and fine, deep fried pork is very tasty, and the miso soup like soup base is incredible! When we asked for the bill, the price even shocked us, average RM4.30 per... More

Wide range of food available. Go to the first floor for halal food which has a good range of Malay food. The second floor has many stalls selling Chinese food. Head for the stall with a sign '1940 original homemade kueh teow with deep fried pork'. This is the second generation operator and the recipe has been unchanged since it... More

The New market is exactly that new. A concrete building over 3 floors. Unfortunately this distracts from the charm. The central and night markets in KK are much better than this one.

It is a hive of activities @ Sandakan Central Market, possibly the largest fish market in Sabah, in the early morning. We always make it a point to visit the local market whenever we visit a new place - always found them to be interesting. Before you head inside, do walk around to the back near the waterfront where boats... More

This is not a restaurant but rather a market; it is not up to the standards of most Asian country city or town markets; few "stalls" are creatively presented and the layout we found to be confusing.
