I order the salad and it was okay, I didn't get sick. My husband and brother order the Mexican food. My husband took 3 bites and he couldn't eat anymore.. he said it was the worse food he had in all his world travels. My brother ordered the chicken burrito and he spent the night in the toilet. The guy... More

We were there on 12-29-2016. The food was average. Main problem is that they overcharged us. After my husband objected to the bill, they corrected it and we paid the lower amount. However, I later discovered they had posted two charges to our credit card. So watch out with this place. They overcharge and it may be best not to... More

This place was a great find. In a small little town with plenty of choices to eat, literally stacked on top of each other, I was very happy I'd chose El Tanqui. Service was great and the food was incredible. I had choclo con queso, two empanadas, a lot of their fresh juice and my more than fair share of... More

In reading the other reviews I am wondering if we ate at the same place for we had a very positive experience on August 11th! We are savy travelers and know good food from the bad, as well as poor service. Yes, the man was outside "hawking" his place but we chose to go on and explore the town a... More

The food was terrible. We were told there would be free nachos and free wine. This never happened. We waited 30 minutes for some cocktails. The worst part was they try to sneak in a 30% service charge.

As many others wrote, I wish I checked the reviews before eating here. The restaurant looks great, but don't be fooled. Expensive, poor quality food, terrible service, expensive service charge and long waits. Stay away!

Our lunch was fine, but we were told by the man out front of the Tunqui we would get free welcome drinks. We received the small drinks, but had a surprise when we received our bill. They had added a 25% service charge. Our group was not impressed as there was no indication on the menu or at the entrance... More

We were in Aguascalientes during a blackout. We walked to the square and this was one of the few restaurants with a generator. We had average food. When it came to pay, they stated that they have a 20% tax. Given that we did not know, we paid this. We found that there is no 20% tax after we walked... More

This was one of the only places with a generator in a power failure so we chose it. Food was so so but very pricey. Alpaca was tough chicken Ahi was good pizzas were small and odd (canned fish on the pesto?) To add insult to injury they added a 20% tax service charge and said was standard. They lied,... More

Having not checked my trusty Trip Advisor (big mistake), and guided by our rumbling stomachs and achy legs, we happily walked into Tunqui, oblivious to the crappy food/service/prices we would receive. As someone else mentioned on here, the man outside falsely lures you in with photos of appetizing meals, and he even offered us a free jar of lemonade... of... More
