Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was very excited to dine here and try out some of the great dishes of this peaceful cafe. I ordered the Peruvian salad which was tasty and light. I also opted for the Trucha as my main course. I highly recommend this restaurant.

This was included as part of a trip to Machu Picchu I have no idea of the value. The view was great, but the service and food was not. I felt that because it was part of a pre-arranged ticket we were treated differently, there...was.just me and one other on this trip. They got my starter wrong, and due to time, I had it but it was not great. Mains was the lomo Saltado, but the beef was chewy and no where near as good as previously had and i could not eat it. The good was the desert the creme caramel was good. Drinks were.not included and they charged 12sol for a small water, most places charge 5.More

We ate a Chicken and Pasta dish, which costed around 70 Soles. The chicken and the pasta were pretty well made, however a little more expensive then expected. The restaurant had a nice view so it’s a good place to go, however far from being...a must go.More

The location of this restaurant is not the best because it's near the train tracks and does not have very good views. However our 3-course lunch organized before visiting Machu Picchu was excellent, in fact all dishes were delicious.

We had dinner, but I would imagine lunch would be better so you could enjoy the view of the river. Limited munu. Peruvian dining is heavy on protein and starch, and I was craving vegetables! They accommodated me with an off menu green salad they...whipped up with apples, avocado, and a delicious fruity dressing - so delicious! Our other items from the menu were very nice. Nice if you're staying at the hotel, but I wouldn't seek it out.More

The cafe’ Inkaterra is in a beautiful setting, we were there for dinner but I can imagine how beautiful it must be during the day. The dining room is very nice , tastefully decorated. The menu looks more sophisticated than the actual food which was...sadly disappointing.More

After visiting Machu Picchu, our guide led us to this restaurant. The restaurant was cozy and comfortable. The food tasted good. I ordered Causa de Pollo as an appetizer but later discovered that my dish was served without the chicken on top. The staff was...kind enough to ask me whether I want the chicken back. Well, I politely said no because I had already completed my course. The service was a bit slow also. Since we were not in a hurry, we were fine with that.More

We booked our Peruvian Manchu Picchu trip through Ideal South America, who put us in the 5 star Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel after our private guided 1 day hike to the Sun Gate to continue the next day. Our dinner was included in our...one night stay at this location, and boy were we blown away by the outstanding food and service at the restaurant. Everyone was very accommodating, and our waiter, Jorge, made a very much appreciated off the menu suggestion for husband whose stomach had not been quite right, of made from scratch chicken noodle soup. I asked for his suggestion for my larger appetite and he suggested the lamb, but placed on top of mashed potatoes instead of what was on the menu. The food was so delicious and the lamb so tender and moist it could be cut with just a fork. The presentation was beautiful over the potatoes and the lamb and lamb sauce were superb. Then by total surprise, shortly after we left the restaurant, the knock on our room door produced our waiter, Jorge, with two free drinks. Not the kind of service we were expecting from a complimentary dinner. We felt like we were somebody very special. Thank you, Jorge, Cafe Inkaterra, and Ideal South America!More

Our guide made a reservation for us at this for lunch but because we had train trouble, it made it into more like dinner. The service was great and the food was tasty. We simply walked to our hotel afterwards because everything is so close.

Amazing dish, very well cooked and ambiance is also very nice. Also, a very beautiful place along the river. Really recommended! A bit tricky to find the entrance though.

Inkaterra had good food, good views and good service. Its dining area is literally next to the river and between the two Peri Rail tracks. Moreover, it has lovely views of the mountains that house Machu Pichu. The food itself was just like any other...food in Peru (which in general has lovely food). The place is 2.5 times more expensive than other places which is why I am docking a point off.More
