The breakfast was very good. They bake their own bread, which is soooo good, coffee is really yummy too. Juan and the owner were super nice to us.

This place was open nice and early which suited us very much. The menu was very extensive and had something everyone wanted. The waffles were a great portion with some lovely fruit salad to accompany. The coffee was also very good. Will certainly come back!

The minimum for breakfast was s/16 , in the local market s/6 for a good breakfast. The portions were not big. The hot chocolate (s/11) and coffee (americano: s/8) is good, it's just not the right price. Very expensive, for Peru...

We came here on our rest day and because I read in a review that there is Gluten free bread. We got an omelette and a cheese toasted sandwich all on glutenfree bread. The bread is thick and nice a little crumbly as the sandwich....Coffee was nice. Gringo prices! You can also buy gluten free bread as a loaf for future travel. Which we dont find very often. Staff were nice and friendly. In the cafe there's books and games to keep you occupied. Enjoy :)More

It definitely has a gringo vibe. The prices are close to common western prices which is outlandishly expensive by Peruvian standards. The coffee was good but I had better coffee at some other cafés in town. I will say the bread was fantastic. Most certainly...the best bread I had in Peru. It has a classic coffeehouse vibe. Although I must say I found my breakfast food to be rather underwhelming and certainly not up to standards for the price they were asking. If you want to place with good Wi-Fi that feels like a standard coffee shop in the United States or Europe go here. Other than that you can skip it.More

The place is nice but seriously, everything is just too expensive, I thought I was going to eat something delicious but instead I got really normal stuff that didn’t correspond with the price. The cup of chocolate was fine, although it seemed like cocoa powder...with milk; the chicken sandwich didn’t have any particular flavour, it almost felt tasteless.More

We loved this place and went back several times. Great coffee, breakfast, sandwiches and cake. Cosy place to hang out with fast WiFi and good music.

A lovely space to relax with the most incredibly friendly staff! The food and drink were also exceptionally good, including the best pot of English tea we had in Peru! The amount of books to sit and leaf through or swap is also fantastic. Great...atmosphere!More

Coffee shop used mostly by travellers with an excellent vibe and food. The employees were very nice and all the food well cooked. Since it opens at 7 am and there is not much to do in Huaraz, it is the perfect place to spend...the afternoon relaxing and eating.More

Found California Cafe via the internet. Turns out the owner is from Santa Cruz. They roast their own beans and understand what coffee is about. Same with juice blends actually. It became part of my morning routine in Huaraz as the staff was so friendly...and accommodating. My only wish would be to have decaf espresso. Got to keep the doctor happy. 😉More

You can certainly find cheaper places to eat. But this place has such a big menu to suit everyone. Sometimes you’d pay anything for a really good coffee!
