The place was noisy and crowded with a combination of tourist and local guests, and elderly muslim men doing the service, and it was great! We had to return our drinks because the lime juice was way too salty, but we got new ones without resistance. We ordered something that sounded like "rathar"-something (fried with naan bread) and it was... More

By far this was the best Kottu we had on our trip to Sri Lanka. The lime juice was also delicious. It seems most of the negative reviews center on the not-quite-sparkling interior, so if that doesn't bother you, this is one of the few good places to have a meal in a restaurant in Kandy.

If you follow the guide books this is listed as a great place to eat. It's definitely cheap but not good enough to make you return in a hurry. The menu states that it's 'hygienic' - always a bit worrying that a restaurant should have to state this to start with, surely it's a given. The food was OK but... More

Extremely well priced so worth hitting up for a cheap lunch but not sure it would be pick for a nice dinner out. Food was tasty but curries came out cold so I found that a bit weird. Always sceptical when a meal comes out a minute after ordering but considering the price it wasn't bad. Lots of locals there... More

I don't know where to start, cause everything about this place is highly over rated. I visited this place because of its high reviews online but had one of the worst experiences of my life. Food: we ordered chicken curry and rice. Chicken was cold and under cooked, and rice that was served was fried rice, and not authentic Sri... More

This inexpensive restaurant right in the middle of town serves up delicious food. Most of the patrons appeared to be locals. The waitstaff seemed quite pleased to have lots of tourists joining the locals but they don't cater to tourists so don't expect to have a lengthy discussion about the food with your waiter. Eat with your right hand. The... More

If you are tired of tourist buffets, then give this place a try. We found it clean, cheerful and serving great, tasty food. The Kottu was to die for, In fact all our food was well cooked, tasty and cheap. Do not be put off by the setting, just go in, ask for a table, order and enjoy. It is... More

At first you may be held back by the aspect of the Muslim Hotel (it's a restaurant), with its "over-the-counter take away service" for passers by and the very local restaurant tables, but don't be ashamed, this place really merits a try. Among the different items in the menu, I strongly recommend that you try some of the "Parata Fry"... More
