We had dinner at the Kandyan Muslim Hotel one night and enjoyed the food as it was very tasty. Their prices were also very reasonable. However, their cleanliness was very questionable as we found our table to be very dirty and it took me a lot of elbow-grease to clean the accumulated grime. The plates and cutlery were also only... I have been there with my family. All of us liked the food. Yes it is not the most hygienic place. But the food is very good. Every 2nd visitor in the restaurant had a Lonely Planet in its hands. It is worse a visit.

Don't expect a fancy restaurant feel here. A great value local eatery. We really enjoyed the Kottu and Samosa. Since this place is in the Lonely Planet and Trip Advisor it has a funny mixture of tourists and locals!

If you go here during the lunch rush hour, expect to see big service delays. Also expect flies. Expect mediocre quality food (if you offer the "fish curry," you get one piece of tuna floating in a saucer of gravy). The one thing we liked on the menu, which is inspired by Indian "Muslim" food, was the faluda lassi. The... More

Our driver brought us here for lunch. It was Xmas day, so the place was packed, mainly with locals. According to our driver, their Byrianni is the best, but it was sold out that day, so we had the kottu instead. It was very tasty! Portions can be huge, so you may want to share instead. Prices are approximately less... More

If it's a posh restaurant you are looking for then this is not for you...we ate here after someone recommended it to us and we were not at all disappointed. Food was excellent and could not believe how cheap it was especially as it was so tasty. We were a group of 5 and all ordered what we wanted and... More

Here w/ 2 friends. Best place we went to. All dishes are very inexpensive yet portions are of an incredible size. We had not eaten that day due to travel constraints. Still we had a really hard time finishing our 500 LKR meal, which did include the best fresh fruit juices we had during our journey. We had 2 khotus,... More

Low key local eatery. Tasty food with very cheap prices. Try the egg rotti. Avoid any dishes with cheese! I would definitely recommend.

Great food, no fuss. Try the flat breads. Vegetarians will have no problem choosing (this is true for Sri Lanka in general). It seems a favourite for locals and visitors! 😊
