Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Brazil is known by the food-by-the pound type of places. Those restaurants are usually a la carte (or all you can eat) in the evening, but normally use the food-by-the-pound approach for lunch. You get a plate, go to a self-service buffet and weight what...you got. An employee marks down on an individual card how much you got from the buffet. You can go back as many times as you want and they weight it every time. The weight of the empty plate is discounted of course. As a result you only pay for what you eat. The same process is valid for desserts. The waiter will get your drink order and bring it to the table and mark it on the card. You pay as you leave the restaurant. Of course the price per pound varies depending on how fancy the restaurant is and the caliber of the choices on the buffet. The higher end the choices, the more expensive it is per pound. Macunaima is a nice place and consequently not the cheapest in town. But worth it every penny. Food is fresh, the AC in the place works great (if you go to Brazil often, you know that is not to be taken for granted) and desserts are excellent. Give it a try!More

If you want to go out with a big group of friends (to celebrate the birthday of one of them, for example) to eat some cheap good pizza, and you don’t want to worry about being silent, this is the right place! As the restaurant...is always very crowded and noisy, there is no problem about speaking or laughing out loud. You can clap your hands and sing “Happy Birthday” without fear (:P). The atmosphere is enjoyable. The place is elegant, nicely decored and surprisingly comfortable: there is space enough for a really large public, and you don’t feel stressed about the noise. The service is good, as well. They offer the service “all-you-can-eat” on the pizzas at night, in a really low price. You can try many different good types of pizza, including the delicious sweet ones (chocolate, pineapple, strawberry, cheese with guava, etc). Macunaíma is settled in a very accessible are of Recife, not far away of the main roads of the city. There is always some good deals in websites like Peixe Urbano e Regateio. It is a really good idea if you want to enjoy the night with your friends, and have a good meal without paying so much or driving to a distant point. I really recommend itMore
