We have stopped at Bates a few times when traveling to or from the Alabama Gulf Coast. You place your order and pay at the counter, then wait for your name to be called. Pick up your napkins, eating utensils and drinks yourself - no table service. You also bus your own table when finished. The food is good and... More

If you are looking for Plates and silverware, this aint the place. Its bare bones, plastic plates and utensils, but the food is great if you love Turkey. Its quick, convenient and most importantly tasty. Its been a fixture to Greenville for a long time. When you are done you dispose of the dishes in the trash containers. The pies... More

We have eaten here a few times & the food is good. The people are friendly & helpful. Clean inside & out. We also bought there turkey products to take home. The smoke sausage & lasagna are very good. Looking forward to going eat there again.

My wife and I have been stopping at Bates for years as we make our way back and forth between Nashville, Tennessee and our Florida home. We jump off of I-65 at exit 130 and Bates is about 200 feet to the west. They have turkey plates with a variety of side dishes, turkey salad sandwiches and wraps, and sliced... More

I remember this restaurant being a special treat every time we went to Gulf Shores. We stopped to get smoked turkey sandwiches and dressing. The cornbread dressing was good, although I was the only one in our family (of six) who enjoyed it. The turkey was not smoked. Just plain turkey slices you could get at a good grocery store.... Bates House of Turkey is a place where you can walk in any day of the year and order turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce, and other fixings that you usually only get around Thanksgiving. Then of course there are the pies - all kinds but naturally pumpkin is the most popular. The best part is that it's delicious. It's also a... More

We were traveling and just happened to see the sign for Bates House to Turkey. We stopped and were not disappointed at all. We just grabbed a couple sandwiches to go. The best we have had in a long time. So on our way home we stopped and had some sliced to take home. Very clean and staff is super... More

Back from Gulfport to Atlanta, we thought we were too early but googled and saw that they open at 8am! It was abut 10:30am so we stopped and got turkey sandwiches for the ride and turkey tetrazzini for later at home---really recommended that you stop here, gas, other breakfast places if you need a biscuit or coffee---great place and we... Have stopped for lunch on our way to and from the beach for years. We always order turkey and dressing and it has always been good. But at our recent stop, the turkey and dressing was not the usual quality. Turkey tasted leftover and dressing was very bland. We did not finish our meal; however, we did get a turkey... More
