I ordered chicken with rice ball, spicy fish stew and stir-fry cabbage. The chicken was really good; tender and juicy. However, riceball was too moisted. I prefered the original rice more. I arrived around 11 on weekday so there was not much crowded. It was on jonker street near the river.

Maybe the taste is the original one... different taste with chicken rice in singapore or different place, but good enough and unique for me. Overall it's great. You must try rice ball and asam pedas fish in here...

This is truly the famous Melaka Rice Ball place. There are many in Melaka but Hoe Kee is the authentic MUST eat chicken rice place. Don't be bluff by the red Famosa Rice Ball shop that you see here and there. No others can beat Hoe Kee. The waiter and waitress are helpful. If you do not know what to... More

The chicken was fresh and juicy, though it was not as tender as I expect; the rice ball was fluffy, the cabbage was good. I wish to try their asam fish head in my next visit! I actually visited the restaurant in a Thursday morning so there was no queue. We got to enjoy the chicken rice slowly and steadily... More

The queue can be long but the experience and food is worth the wait. This restaurant is housed in an antique prewar Chinese courthouse hence the interior design exudes a warm ancient Chinese feel. The chicken rice balls were tasty and fluffy- a must try! The steamed chicken served today was a tad salty with too much soy and sesame... More

When you enter Jonker street, you will first spot Kedai Kopi Chung Wah - the other famed chicken rice ball shop with a long queue. As you walk past Sam Shu Gong shop, there it is, Hoe Kee Hainanese Chicken Rice Ball shop, with a relatively long queue too. The challenge is queuing next to the moving cars, lorries, and... More

Was in Malacca for a family outing. Heard many different chicken rice ball shops but was recommended by a local to eat here as the other ones with long queue is over-rated and standard has dropped. Not to be disappointed after a short wait were seated awaiting our order. The menu was posted at the door and order was taken... More

Actually waited about 50 minutes on a Friday afternoon to taste the legendary chicken rice balls, with my 4 and 10 years old son... Sorry but not really to my liking. Chicken not as tender & they actually limit number of rice balls (half a chicken = 3 plates of rice balls) one can purchase. But for novelty, go ahead... More

The chicken rice ball seems more like a novelty. Take that away, we still have a decent chicken rice dish. However, nothing that we could not find else where. The queue here is much better than Chung Wah across the street
