I globally appreciated this Cantonese restaurant and specially the dim sum. Chicken with truffles was nice and tasty also. We less appreciated the Yangzhou Fried rice.

Very, very tasty food, especially the vegetarian dishes - very fresh. Some staff speak reasonable English so easy to order. Would recommend for tasty fresh Chinese.

We know this place as Crystal Jade and located on the first floor of a shopping mall in Xintiandi you may not just stumble over this. The restaurant has modern decor and plenty of staff. We tried a variety of dishes and loved them all. Costing about $Aud20 per head it is good value and a bit more up market... More

This place is outstanding in every sense. Food: full menu of the classic Cantonese, Shanghai, Beijing, and Sichuan dishes suitable for both foreign and local palates. Service: discreet, quick, knowledgeable, but very little spoken English. Prices: Quite reasonable. Interior design: Outstanding. More than a decade old, designed by a known Japanese architect. Views to the prosperous Xintiandi residential area. Location:... More

It's located centrally at the prestige preserve old house of Xin tian di area. It's on the 2nd floor. Restaurant is big and usually crowded over weekends. My favorite food here is their varieties of dim sum and clay pot rice with sausage and preserve meat (take some time to cook but really good). They have other varieties of dishes... More

Brought our Regional Sales Office here for a team building activity and Crystal Jade delivered a very good service & a very high quality Cantonese Food. The Hong Kong team with us praised the food (that is a WoW feedback) & we will return again.

Our group of 4 got there and got the menu. We were not sure what to eat and asked the waitress for suggestions, she did not understand and asked another waitress to help. This one also did not give us suggestions [I realized they did not speak English well, but unlike other places they did not try to find someone... More

We went to the one in the shopping arcade and the food was ok - we were absolutely starving so I think we'd have eaten anything! I certainly wouldn't rave about it though and I wouldn't hurry back as we've had far nice meals in Shanghai. Quite 'old school' - The staff weren't the most helpful or smiley and the... More

Staying in Xintiandi

Neighbourhood Profile
Xintiandi
The refurbishment of a block of old shikumen into a carless entertainment center called Xintiandi, filled with restaurants, shops and bars, turned this area below South Huangpi Road into one of Shanghai’s most fashionable areas. Luxe condos house people who can afford the high-end brands that fill the malls and shops along Madang Road. The pleasant Taipinghu Park provides the area with green space and is also home to Shanghai Fashion Week twice a year. It’s not all glitter and glamour, though, as the rise of Danshui Road has given the Xintiandi area a shot of toned-down character. Small bars and cafes, mostly owned by locals, have people hanging out in a formerly quiet, unassuming part of the neighborhood.
