Got here Sunday night. The place was fairly empty. No vibe. Food is ok but with a city that has so much to offer I will choose something else

Dear J H, Sorry to hear about the trouble you had in trying to book a table. We certainly want the process to be easy and generally, it works well to book either online or by phone. I don't know what happened in this case...More

Maya was a delightful surprise - great Mexican in the bottom of an apartment block in the middle of Shanghai? Yes - it's possible. Maya is a wonderful night out and some delicious food. Service from a dedicated small team is also excellent.

This place would fit in perfectly in Beverly Hills! Perfect decor, ambiance, food, service. A little difficult to find as it is hidden in a private courtyard but just print out address in Chinese and hand to the taxi driver with a smile.

Former French Concession
While there are technical borders to the area formerly

is a favorite of the city's foreign residents. While
it is mostly within the Xuhui district, residents will
sometimes include parts of Jing'an and Luwan in their
mental maps of the Former French Concession. The area
seems frozen in time, characterized by quiet,

I'm not sure how to answer this as we were simply guests at the restaurant. The food and service were excellent.

MAYA opened its doors in 2008. The restaurant was a result of the founder’s frustration with the lack of quality Mexican food in Shanghai. MAYA aims to introduce the amazing flavors and culture of Mexico in a sophisticated and cozy environment Over the years MAYA has become the most awarded Mexican restaurant in Shanghai and in 2014 we opened our second restaurant MAYITA, close to People’s Square. BIENVENIDO A MAYA!
