Nice place for a quick drink and small meal. Another on-the-beach place where the kids can play and graze. Laid back atmosphere. Guacamole is fab.

No, it isn't fancy food, but it is consistently good. The tacos can't be beat and the view is killer. The perfect beach spot.

Awesome food at reasonable prices. They have good daily specials. The menu does not include the 10% service fee. I recommend the papas rusticas (potato wedges). The service can be slow, and expect to wait 30+ minutes for your food, but it's worth the wait.

Imagine taking a walk on the beach in Samara and needing something to wet your whistle. "It is what it is" or Lo Que Hay is the place for you. The pina colada is one of the best I have ever had. Great salsa, guacamole and chips and the tacos are great for a light lunch. They also have specials... More

Drinks a bit weak like everywhere along the beach in Costa Rica. Can recommend the tacos here, particularly the fish and the chorizo. Service can be a bit slow when they are understaffed. The taco special is worth the price.

Drinks were cold and beach was nice to sit at while drinking. Some of our gang went for a swim while we sat at the table

We had a great supper and lunch here during our stay in Samara. Lovely location on the beach. The tacos are always great and inexpensive, the burritos, salads and grilled avocado were also delicious. The service is friendly, a bit slow but the place was packed both times we were there. The have daily drink specials which are a good... More

This place is a ridiculous amount of fun. It's your typical dream vacation bar- on the beach, nice and shady, fairly priced drinks. We also enjoyed that there were dogs (and one kitty!) wandering around. I know that would be a big no-no back home in the US, but I found it charming. Drinking a tall chili guaro on the... More

Fish tacos were excellent and certainly couldn't beat the view. The bartender was most patient and helpful with us trying to decipher the local money

We had so many great evenings and lunches at this place. The staff is super friendly, the food is decent and the beer ice cold. Make sure you order your beer "michelada en vaso". Crushed ice, lime and beer makes a perfect compliment in the heat.
