Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We got to the place and we had to park outside even that there was parking inside of the parking lot (the guy just simply said that there was no parking space). Once there, the place had a really good smell like pizza, we sit...down and order the drinks, it took like 15 min for the lady to bring them. Then we order some food for me and my wife (25 min). I did order the "Montaditos" in which was awful. It was like a simple bread with Tomato and a cheese, everything was cold and expensive. Didn't like it but oh well. In the end, we requested the check and we waited 20-25 min, we had the cash in front us and they did charge other people instead of us, and the lady told me a really bad excuse and the guy from the cashier told me another excuse. It was really expensive and not a value for the food that we had and the service was really bad. The music was good but they charge you, even if they didn't notify you...More

I spent like 46 thousand colons for the food of two and a bottle of wine. The restaurant looks nice, rustic, excellent parking service. I didn't see live music or a great view.

Food was great but overpriced... Besides the fact they had live music but did not mention that you had to pay for it until the check arrived... So we had to pay for listening to music we did not ask for and we were never...told there was a feeMore

About the place: I went on a family visit, however, I got the impression thst the outside decorations and ambience makes it is good for a romantic dinner as well. On the inside lights were not used properly and some of this ambience gets lots....I got tired of the music. They play Trova, which is OK, the problem is it was from the same singer and they only had like 10 tracks. As you can imagine during our dinner we listen to the same songs several times almost to the point of hating it. About the service: Service was OK. Waiters didn’t know much about the dishes or type of beers they served. When we ordered desserts we ordered something we didn’t like because of a wrong description of the waiter. Their service is courteous but don’t set your expectations higher than that. About the food: Presentation was good and they have good variety of dishes. I was not impressed with the taste but I would come back so it was that good. Don’t ask for the homemade ice cream, well at least me and my kids didn’t like it.More

First let's say, you would expect to hear some Sabina music, there almost was none !!!! We got a little late and the "covers band" was about to finish, literally they played two songs and that was it, they stared to shut down the bar....She we asked for the bill, we got charged for a cover, the guy never told us anything about it even though he knew they were about to close out, when we asked about the charge, the guy at the cashier, immediately raised his voice saying it was our foul because we did not read some sign outside, I was raining, pouring actually, so I would not stop to read a sign in that conditions, would you?. There was a hugh puddle of mud at the door step and it smell like you know what, the guy pretended that I should have to stop there, pouring to read a sign!! More

High in the mountain and secluded from the hustle n bustle of San Jose and Heredia. It's not easy to get to as you navigate through a winding Mountain Road going through several villages. This adds to normal Speakeasy Fields has arrived at the location...with its parking often overflowing with vehicles. Unfortunately unlike most of the other Mountain restaurants in the surrounding Countryside they are not blessed with a beautiful view from their location, however they make it up with tasteful decor and fine dining at reasonable prices and excellent live music. You can pat yourself on the back just for getting here, though navigational GPS will get you there easily,, if you just trust it! The service was good and the food a finer typical variety. Seating is a little cumbersome, but your better off with reservations or you will be out of eyesight of the stage. The bar is in the middle and blocks alot of the view. The performances are Jazz, classical, and Folkloric with many popular Latin bands singers and poets. There is also a added surcharge after 9PM some nights depending on the venue. All an all it is an excellent choice for a date or with friends. Your night should be " PURA VIDA!"More

Really bad The staff insisted on selling a bottle of wine when we only wanted a glass. Bad service Pulp a la Gallega with potato ships? They overprice for the quality of food.

Went there with my sister and had a great time, awesome live music. Bad: Awful restroom, stinks, it was so dirty and smelly. I think it has never been cleaned before.

Good music, good food and wine... Parking space is limited, you might have to park outside, the town is very safe, so no worries..! Good place to go as couples and to listen trova!

My overall experience at la Cantina de Sabina was pretty good. The food was fair, and the ‘patatas bravas’ are worth trying. There’s a lot of variety on the menu and a good wine selection too. There was live music which was a bit too...loud, but no longer than anywhere else. There's a music fee of $6 per person which will be added to your bill The catina has a great view of San Jose, and although getting there is kind of tricky; Waze will take you there easily. It has a very spacious and secure parking lot with a guachiman "watchiman" ;).More

this place is really nice with live music and good food and drinks. There is a lot to choose from if you like wine. If not there are enough other options. Everybody was singing and having a good time. I would come here again.

First offense, really bad service. Second offense, the oddly printed label on the bottle of wine that we ordered. The label was really small print like it had been printed in house. Yikes.
