The owner of Barba Roja was our guide when we toured Manuel Antonio National Park and had invited us to his restaurant. I was skeptical because it is located on the same strip as a lot of touristy restaurants where the prices are high and the food often mediocre. Our last night in Manuel Antonio we planned to be seated... More

Stopped in this place for dinner and had a great time. The atmosphere was great and the food was pretty on point. I also loved the live music. It was a highlight of my evening. The prices were a little spendy but on par with what else you would find in Manuel Antonio. Definitely check this place out!

Really nice place, lovely view of the sunset, very good food and drinks. A bit pricey, but maybe that is to be expected in a tourist center.

Love returning to this spot for great, well prepared food and watching spectacular sunsets, while being served great drinks, from very friendly staff, who remember you! Tuesday night is 2for 1 burger night! These guys are the best anywhere! Spacious and offering one the best view of the ocean, while having a good time with family and friends! Lots of... More

Our neighbor in the house we were renting (who stays in M.A. 4 months of the year) recommended Barba Roja for their two for one hamburger nights. Unfortunately, he didn't mention which night that was. As of this writing, Tuesdays are two for one hamburger nights (4-6pm, I think). The only specials that were on the night we went were... More

Place was empty but we could only sit at a table for two so they sent us to bar deck at end of restaurant. We waited for 45 to order food and just left. Nice sunset. Service terrible.

We had eaten here on a previous trip to the area years ago. We knew they had sushi and that was the reason why I wanted to visit. We were seated quickly and that's where the confusion began. A staff member came up to us and asked us for drinks so we told them what we wanted. Later, another staff... More

We enjoyed the view but the service was marginal. They forgot to put in our order and after 30 min we asked and they said they'd give us 10% discount. Not our best diving experience.

Barba Roja worked for us given our large party and picky children. They have wide selection of food options. Chill, laid back atmosphere. Bar scene seemed to be hopping. Decent value for the money.

This restaurant was recommended for its sunset views. Our intention was to go for dinner. However we ended up having drinks, watching the sunset and then leaving to eat elsewhere. When we arrived, the restaurant was only maybe one-third full. The host told us to "sit anywhere." We chose a table with a nice view of the ocean and sat... More
