Located on Calle 33, in the Barrio Escalante, right next to the railway crossing, the place is quite large with an eclectic but tasteful decor. The menu and theme is definitely mediterranean , and the restaurant was rocking when we arrived (luckily we had a reservation!), and even busier when we left at 10 pm. The choices offered are many... We only had a salad, which was delicious, but the rest of the menu looked great. It was a Thursday night and it was the busiest restaurant in the area - so booking might be wise. Staff were friendly and efficient. Decor was cool and eclectic, would be out of place in any major city in the world.

I was visiting Costa Rica last month and at a friends suggestion I went to lunch with a group of friends to Olio restaurant in Barrio Escalante. The food was amazingly delicious, very natural, not oily. I had grilled chicken breast that was moist but juicy at the same time, and the yogurt dressing very natural and flavorful. We arrived... We went here right after getting into San Jose and had a feast! The food was varied and interesting and all of it was excellent. I loved the decorations and the service was very friendly. It was really cool watching the passenger trains go by during rush hour.

Our experience was great, the food was so tasty, the atmosfere is vey nice and romantic, with dim light, cool interior space and decorations, the service was excellent, very polite and attentive. We had some amazing seafood and champiñones madrileños which were exquisite.

The service is really good, the place is very cozy and romantic 10/10 in that sense. Prices are good, is not expensive for the quality of the food you're getting. I ordered "papas bravas" as appetizer and they were soooo good, seriously best papas bravas I have ever tried and the spicy aioli also incredible, an amazing experience, super recommended.... More

We celebrated a birthday and a farewell at Olio on December 26. We enjoyed the service and the atmosphere. The Menu has a interesting variety of options. My wife and me are Muslims and my brother can not tolerate alcohol, though pork and alcohol were 2 ingredients found in our disches and the menu did not describe either of them.... More

Great food & cocktails. Funky interior & funky beats too. Really enjoyed our dinner here & our waiter was very friendly & lovely. We had chicken & mushroom penne pasta, Spanish tapas plate & Alfredo pasta. All of it was nice food & went down very well after a day of exploring. Thank you : )

The Chicken was so dry, the palmito and yuca pie looks and taste awful. First and Last Time!!! And the beverage was so watery no fruit taste. It was off "Carambola '
