The small espresso shop was closed, so my husband and I went to grab some coffee at the restaurant. When I told the hostess we just wanted to sit and have a cup of coffee, you would have thought we told her we had some sort of disease. She pointed for us to go sit at a table. Didn't bother... It has to be really bad for me to rate anyplace at level 1 but this restaurant qualified. It is at the top of the Mt Roberts tramway. We waited a bit for a table then waited at 10 minutes before anyone came to the table to ask what we might like to drink. Another 10 minutes went by before... More

The breathtaking surroundings are a joy all by themselves, but the food was also amazing. I was pleasantly surprised at the A-1 quality of the cuisine!

At the top of the Tramway. Great views. Prices are not too bad. Service was okay. Had the the crab nachos and they were very good. We did have to pay for the Tram ride up. Would not come here just to eat. We had lunch after hiking the trails.

Don't think that this is "tourist" food, it is a great place for locals, too. Chef Randy has beefed up the menu and it is GOOD! Steak sandwiches, great burgers, "Alaskan" tacos (made with fry bread - delicious!) and more make up this broad menu. A great wine list, many Alaskan (and other) brews to choose from as well as... I arrived at the Timberline last Monday with high-expectations. I had read reviews on trip advisor and seen people rave about the crab nachos. Because of this, we made it a "must-do" for the duration of our port-visit to Juneau. We arrived at about 3pm, an off-time between lunch and dinner. Upon asking for a table by the window, the... We had drinks and dinner at "Timberline Atop Mt. Roberts", which is the new name that the Goldbelt Company prefers in an attempt to distinguish the restaurant from being just a "bar and grill". We made reservations, were seated on time, and had a great seafood dinner with great service. We had a table by the window and the view... More

Perhaps we could have ordered a better selection. We had crab nachos, which were fine, but not inspired. Fish and chips were limp and greasy. Chowder was OK, but nothing special. Like everything in Juneau, it was quite expensive for what we got. So, it wasn't bad, but go for the view, not the food. It is at the top... More

We came back to the timberline restaurant to see what's good this year. You HAVE to try the grilled salmon pie! And the hand patty burgers are so juicy. The clam chowder is still awesome and the service by Dorcy was great too! Our guest had the all you can eat crab. So much crab.

The salmon dish was excellent but the real star was our server. She made us very welcome and went above and beyond
