When you look at it, it's not that easy on the eyes, it looks like an old shipping container but oh man can looks be deceiving. We stopped by here for a quick bite before heading back on our cruise ship in May. We ordered...More

We were looking for fish & chips on our recent cruise stop in Ketchikan and Alava's didn't disappoint. It is small but oh so worth it. The halibut was so fresh and buttery it melted in your mouth. Came the french fries and coleslaw that...More

Best halibut I've ever tasted. So true what the lady said in the counter. So fresh and buttery, literally melts in your mouth goodness. I have tried so many fish n chips and by far this was the best.

We are addicted to Avala's fish and chips. We ate their halibut fish and chips twice in one week on our own. When friends joined us later, we had to take them and ate there again. Everyone agreed - best fish and chips, ever!

Came at 2 pm for late lunch with our family of 4 (after our canoe and nature trail hike), had 3 pieces of good-sized crunchy cod, chowder and cole slaw for myself, and all were very delicious, specially the chowder. Chowder by itself was already...More

I was on my own for lunch - DH was sick on the cruise ship. I had heard about Alava's on-line and went searching for it. Took me a minute (don't need t o go through the tunnel to find) but well worth the hunt....More
