My husband and I dined at Cnapan whenever possible during the long time the Lloyd/Cooper family has been running. Lately, eating there with friends the meals have been better than ever. The attention to detail is quite amazing and there is such a friendly atmosphere. But the tragedy is that the restaurant is closing and Judi, Mike and their son... More

We heard that the owners of Cnapan were retiring and decided we had to have one last dinner with our local friends. So we travelled from Sussex for the occasion, we had a superb evening meal which will be long remembered. So just to wish Michael and Judith well for the future and thanks for so many memorable meals and... More

Another visit to Cnapan this time for a birthday meal, usual friendly welcome and drink in comfortable reception room. The food is wonderful, beautifully cooked and presented and says ' eat me', vegetables are a joy, always different, this time there was a pureed parsnip and baked beetroot to compliment the potatoes and carrot dishes. I love this place, it's... More

We have always had an excellent experience at Cnapan which makes it even sadder that it is closing as a restaurant ! For years it has been at the forefront of good dining in west Wales.Somewhere that we could take friends and family with confidence. I would recommend that you visit soon in the hope that we can persuade the... More

Great restaurant in charming old house.Family run and always very welcoming - very strongly feel it should be number 1 restaurant in Newport. - by far the best. The two and three course menus are good value.I have heard that Cnapan is closing its restaurant business but retaining the B and B - hope this is not true as it would... We've been dining at Cnapan since 1991. It was then, and still is now, a wonderful place. Excellent service, use local produce, great chef. A real pleasure and a very special place.

If TA allowed six stars, that's what we'd give Cnapan. We had one of the best meals here that we've ever eaten. The reception is warm and friendly, the ambience is charming, and the food nothing short of superb. My main course was the seafood pancake, but everything that both of us had was delicious. There's a well-chosen wine-list, and... More

Once again we had a lovely evening at Cnapan. The food and serice is excellent. There were 14 of us. The food comes quickly and is refreshingly different. Lots of lovely vegetable dishes with the main courses. Home cooked, delicious and great value. We look forward to coming back!

Eating at the Cnapan was a truly memorable experience. The quality of the food from start to finish was incredible, and made our evening a special event. Our meal was a birthday celebration and we were not disappointed. The starter was a delectable mix of many small parcels of taste which paved the way for the best fillet steak we... More

Great tastes provided by Judy, a real explosion in the palate. A real gem located in a family orientated environment.
