We had a week in Newport Pembs, so tried nearly every establishment there - this place looked great from the outside and the menu looked good so in we went. I found going down to the cellar bar very hard, the stairs were steep and high and not very encouraging for older couples or babes in arms - the stairs... More

We were looking for somewhere to eat as a family of four and a dog. If the place we were heading for was not booked up we would not have found this gem of a place. We nearly did not ask if they had space as it looked a bit posh to take a dog, but they have a cellar... More

Arrived Friday lunch - with 3 hungry children. The food and service sublime. One of the best in the village especially if your looking to have a special and gastronomic time. Thanks to Ed and Lou as always!

Had been wanting to try Llys Meddyg for a while. We booked an early evening meal to allow our son to join us. Unfortunately the we didn't feel that welcome with a small child in tow (despite there being other family's dining). Not much of an atmosphere, quite a delay between courses and small portions. Food was tasty enough but... More

We love the cellar bar and the cocktails (alcoholic and non alcoholic) We have eaten here before and always enjoyed ourselves however the meal on Monday evening was perfect. Everyone had something different and each dish looked good and tasted delicious. We love the potion sizes which are not too big so that we can have a starter and a... More

Sadly the Llys Meddyg rests on its laurels and thinks the great food it can do will keep it going. The decor is now looking a little sad and the service is really not up to scratch. For the prices, they should try much much harder.

But the food setvice and atmosphere made up for being slightly more expensive. about desert. . All I can say is think it's been... More

Last minute decision to eat out with a friend. Decided to try the much recommended cocktail cellar bar and wasn't disappointed. Such lovely friendly staff who were attentive although clearly busy. Unable to get a table to eat at first, we were soon offered a table when one became available . Cocktails were wonderful. Food great, very tasty and main... More

Portion sizes were a little small, but couldn't fault the quality of the food. The service, if a little on the slow side, was very friendly. Excellent desserts, too.

As regular visitors to the area we had been thinking of eating here for some years. We called in and booked a table in the cellar bar as this was recommened to us by a local. However when we arrived we were shown to a table in the dining room and the way the cellar bar was described seemed to... More
