We went to this restaurant as it was advertised as typical South African food. We were not disappointed as not only is it a nice place the staff are friendly and efficient. I tried bobotie, for me it was too sweet, but as it was the first time I have tried it it was interesting and will definitely try again.... More

We were really pleased that we had booked this restaurant ahead of our arrival into Plettenberg. Great service, wonderful starters - Bushveld Meat Platter in particular. Wonderful meaty mains and great wine (Alvi's Drift Fusion)

The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere and very friendly staff. However our salmon was served under cooked and we had to send it back. The table next to us ordered steak. It was also under cooked. They also had to send them back. What they served with the fish, made me still hungry after the meal. Only after eating the... More

This is a place where you will find traditional South African Cuisine. From Afrikaner all the way through to Koi and Xhosa inspired food. Definately worth a visit if you're in the mood for something different. Sitting in the courtyard in the evening is absolutely gorgeous.

We had a lovely seafood meal here. The service was good and the waiter friendly. We had come prepared to eat outside in the courtyard but luckily the waiter offered us a table inside due to one being free. It was a chilly evening so we were pleased to be in. Outside rugs were provided if needed. We had a... More

We visited Nguni , on the spur of the moment after a long day of travel on a busy Friday evening in Plett. Our reservation was excellently handled and I think we got the last table. We found the restaurant full of foreign visitors to SA and soon learned why. The menu is refreshingly short and contains an excellent mix... More

Description
Nguni Restaurant
Nostalgic with an African flair, Nguni is located in one of Plett's oldest buildings - an original dairy dating back over a hundred years. Nguni's African menu is a reflection of traditional selections like Bobotie, game, biltong, springbok, Karoo lamb, ostrich and other local favourites. With its beautiful sunny veranda or eclectic African interior with its original wood-burning stove, the Nguni Girls provide customers with a unique setting and superb menu. A true taste of the Cape!
