After coming to Zimbali Lodge for breakfast before, I thought it would be great to bring friends over to enjoy the experience. Sadly we where extremely disappointed. The restaurant was extremely under staffed for a Saturday morning. Tables where not cleared and prepared as other guests left causing a backlog of guests waiting to be seated. Eventually my party sat... More

My husband and I booked into Zimbali Forest Lodge for a few days. The local restaurant Thandis serving breakfasts had opened up for dinners and we decided to try it out. Arriving we were shown to a table near the buffet. There is no a la carte menu so we had to settle for the buffet. As we were early... More

We went to this restaurant the first day we arrived at the resort. We arrived late and the restaurant had already packed up the buffet. They set back up the buffet for us as it was initially, including putting name tags on the food. Nothing was too much trouble for them. There were lots of options on the buffet with... More

Dirty table cloths, insects in the food, stained cutlery and bad waitressing to mention a few of the disappointments. We were supposed to be spoiling our guests with a 5 star breakfast but unfortunately it turned into a fiasco. As home owners on Zimbali this used to be the place to take your guests to spoil them. The gourmet breakfast... More

Recently had a special family lunch in the Thandi restaurant at the Lodge, and we were so disappointed. It was so far from 5* that it was a joke, a very expensive joke! Restaurant was dirty, with food on the floor, table linen was stained and creased. Service was exceptionally slow, waited an hour and a half for our 1... More

Beautifully presented food, fresh and very tasty. Very nice surrounding s and would highly recommend this restaurant for a great selection of curry. It is expensive but it's not your average curry house in the mall. There are non curry/Indian items on the menu aswell if everyone in your party wants an alternative.

Please avoid this place. Food is overpriced and poor quality. Service is shocking. R115 for a burger and R185 for a curry. Food took over an hour to come and was cold and tasteless. This place depends on ripping off a captive audience at Zimbali. It's the type of rip off that gives SA tourism a bad name. Avoid!

After drinks at the Trophy bar, a classy, beautifully decorated space somewhat marred by the incongruous loud TV coverage of a sports match nobody (with the possible exception of the barman) wanted to see, we moved to the attractive Thandi dining room. Here we found an interesting menu, a good wine list, and excellent service from Kevin throughout the meal.... More

When one is paying upwards of R160 for curry you tend to expect good service, sadly however the staff at this establishment have not been well trained at all. We had to go and find a waiter order drinks, had to go fetch our own condiments from the waiters station, and then had further problems trying to get the bill,... More
