Waiter was good and explained how the food is ordered. Had 3 times of fish, all came out rather dry and the vegetables were very salty. Quite disappointed

very sad to write this review, as the codfather was one of our favorite restaurants in the area. it had enough staff, waiters that took excellent care and amazing food. tonight we almost got ignored by our waitress, and the food was at best mediocre. it all tasted the same basically. we hope its because there wasnt enough staff. any... This was our 3rd visit to Cape Town and everytime we just have to go to The Codfather. I can't understand why it's not ranked higher, I just wish there was a restaurant like this in London. If you love fish you'll be in heaven. There is no menu, the waiter takes you to the counter to explain all the... More

Lovely staff with nothing too much trouble. We chose local fish and the server estimated the cost. Cooked to perfection and a lovely glass of sauvignon blanc to accompany the meal. A great meal and evening with loads to eat and great atmosphere

If I could give less than one star I would. The place is VERY crowded and loud. I literally got pushed out of the way at the fish counter. Service takes forever to get grilled fish. Sauces come on the side. Two are butter based which only works for shell fish. My octopus was over cooked and generally the meal... More

When we told the folks running our B&B we wanted to eat great fresh fish and seafood they immediately said, "go to the Codfather in Camp's Bay." It didn't disappoint. We ate some of the freshest fish and seafood we have ever tasted. Everything was perfectly grilled and served with potatoes, rice, and spinach. It's a must return visit next... More

Best seafood I have ever eaten, but still overpriced for what we had. By Cape Town pricing standards, our meal was twice as expensive as any we had elsewhere. If you are happy to pay more for good quality then this is the place for you. If you would prefer to spend less for good quality then head to Baia... More

If you're looking for the freshest seafood and fish for dinner, this is the place. It's not your usual restaurant, though. There are no menus, instead you walk to the glass counter overflowing with prawns, langoustines, squid, octopus and fish and choose your meal. Your waiter will take your order at that time. Prices are according to weight, for example,... More

The sushi and fresh fish is amazing, great quality and choice. If you have a reservation, make sure to be on time, as they have 2 slots for dinner and switch all tables at 9pm, rushing the guests to finish their meals in time. However, food is well worth it.

Had a great lunch here with Calamari, Dorado and 4 huge langoustine and it was amazing, all fresh and selected by us from the cold counter. Great meal, but no prices available till the bill comes, so just be careful.. Would definitely come back...
