Stubbled across this lovely cafe/restaurant by accident. So pleased I did. Ordered the eggs benedict and the eggs were perfect. Just a slight touch and the yolk oozed out. Lovely presentation with rolled up bacon and a tasty green salad. The coffee was divine too. Only regret was not being able to go back due lack of tine and try... More

So - big call - The best Omelette in the entire world. I swear it. Had the eggs Benedict and a few others. All good. But do not leave CT without having an R Cafe omelette.

The food is okay considering its price tag and compulsory service charge, but we always hear the owner screaming in the kitchen at her staff. That creates an unappetizing environment. The decor is unique and the staff are friendly (with the exception of the above situation).

I went there twice and both times the food was incredibly tasty. The smoked salmon sandwich was the best I ever had. I'm gluten intolerant and I was surprised by the variety of options they have that is suitable for people with gluten problems. I strongly recommend this place for breakfast, lunch or just a snack

It was one of the best places I've been for breakfast. I wanted to order everything on the menu for it sounded luscious. Fresh and healthy ingredients. Amazing service, and beautiful decoration. Highly recommended.

I had the lamb wrap and it was so so good! Absolutely delicious. It is the best meal I have had in Cape Town. The service was fantastic too. The food came quickly and the waiter was available when we wanted to order coffee and dessert after (Gluten free brownie was a win too) and it was quick to get... More

This cafe is chic and trendy and has a great vibe. The food is creative, the staff are very helpful and the food and drinks are great value. It's a great little place for a snack on the very busy Long Street and I would reommend it.

This is a very nice café with diverse food choices including vegetarian and gluten-free. The coffee is great, a special dark and bold blend. The café is completely decorated in recycled and reused items. Great find!

I like taking my mother out for cake a coffee, but since she has been diagnosed with diabetes it is kinda difficult. BUT THEN ... I found this little coffee shop in town. They have delicious light lunches and a variety of Banting friendly options... including cheescake and brownies. This is a place to visit.

Description
About the restaurant: Established in 2004, Rcaffe on Long Street has stood the test of time. Our excellent coffee has always been our biggest selling point, and our passionate belief in excellent food and impeccable service has certainly made Rcaffe a Cape Town institution. Recently voted as one of the Top 10 coffee shops in cape town by Cape Town Magazine. We are proud, and thankful to our regular, and new, clientele for the support over the years. Philosophy: "Home is where friendly paths cross, and for that brief moment in time, the whole world looks like home." - Hermann Hesse The Rcaffe experience permeates all your senses: sight, smell, flavor, sound and atmosphere stirring a romantically familiar sense of deja vu. Have you ever been drawn to a place, not quite certain what pulled you in, finding yourself giving in to the urge of exploring it further, only to discover that your expectation has been exceeded? That's the charm of Rcaffe. Funky, creative, quirky, vibrant, unique, social, friendly, hip, fresh, sophisticated, decadent....Rcaffe is a theatrical experience which would create a personal stage for each and every one of its visitors. Decor: The decor is a creative expression of the Rcaffe philosophy. It has a romantic, bohemian feel to it, modeled by the creative flare of designer and artist, Brigitte Dewberry ("Spred");"I wanted to create a quirky fun but layered experience. Something that would engage the customers but leave them with a taste of nostalgia" The art features made from "R"ecycled magazines and "R"ead books, "R"ecords, vintage tennis "R"ackets, tape "R"ecorders etc is what brings the "R" to life. Food: We have a divers menu using only the freshest ingredients. Quality, consistency and well-balanced flavors are what we have become known for since opening in 2004. Flavors are well thought through and every bite is complex, with multiple layers of taste awakening your senses and evoking memories. Mediterranean simplicity is combined with the interesting notion that nothing is quite what it seems, continuously discovering a new flavor element with every bite, making the experience unforgettable.
