This is a typical lodge type restaurant. It's a bit out of the way, and I wouldn't make a special trip. The outside seating is quite pleasant and food is OK - average.

The wild fig restaurant has plenty of seating inside and out the historic old building. For Starters, I enjoyed the marrow bone with fillet tartare and my husband had baked camembert, which he said was delicious. Our main courses were Crispy Duck and Lamb shank- both tasty. A pleasant evening and good service.

The title says it all really, we visited 3 times in the 9 days we were in Cape Town, the Duck, Pork and Lamb were amazing. John Claude the waiter was very attentive and sometimes the only person who seems to know what they are doing. We will be back again next time we visit Cape Town for sure.

Staying at the adjacent hotel, I invited friends (local) for dinner. We sat on the verandah on a beautiful evening and enjoyed good wine and beer, enjoyed the attentive service and all enjoyed what we had ordered. Well worth a visit.

The Wild Fig has great food and a wide selection of wines. Also had infomed waiting staff re: good food + wine pairing and food recommendations. I had a vegetarian meal - ratatouille bake which was one of the best I've had at a restaurant. My friend enjoyed a butter chicken curry dish. We received great service here and enjoyed... More

Having heard so many good things about the food at Wild Fig, I was quite keen to accept an invite for a lunch date. Have to admit, was not blown away at all over the food quality - over cooked steak and sides to share between two were very little. Service was slow. Thank God for their decent wine list.

Best fillet steak ever! My only negative about this restaurant was that the 'specials' were the same every night!

Loved the original variety on the menu as well as the Chef's specialty dishes on offer each evening, which included mouth watering wild game meats and fresh ocean fish.

Worth a visit without a doubt! The menu choices are interesting and, although its not a cheap venue, the investment is well worth it.
