I really enjoyed this visit on a Saturday afternoon. The service was very friendly, the wine good and the food excellent. Came here on a Wikideal and I was really surprised after reading the previous negative reviews. Can recommend this place.

The food and service in this restaurant was shockingly bad. I am not a foodie, and can tolerate pretty much any food. But this was a joke. I felt like I was in the twilight zone--as if aliens had read from a distant planet how to cook Japanese food, and were doing their best. It was awful. It took 30... More

If I could give a Zero rating I would do it. This was the worst restaurant experience even. We arrived at the restaurant with a voucher for sushi and dumplings. The table was filthy and the menu pages were stuck together from food or drink that was not cleaned up. We were also told that the chef had left and... More

We went fairly early (6:30pm) and each had one of the platters on special. Sushi was very generous and tasty, we enjoyed ourselves. For the price it is good value for money sushi.

DO NOT EAT HERE. No atmosphere & awful food. I'm pretty sure the "dim sum" (it's probably an insult to call it that) is bought in frozen - the "pork" looked like pink-dyed cat food. Truly awful & a disgrace to Kloof Street.

Only one person on the floor, but plenty of people so the service was very slow. But the food was good and the ambience pleasant.

Went there on a recommendation from my hostel. Turned out to produce good value sushi. Yes it's not incredible, but for R.88 for a 20 piece platter I didn't expect it to be. Sushi was good. Service was excellent and always with a smile, and the chef genuinely enthusiastic about sushi. He also does a mean shanghai rose (rice rolled... More

An extensive menu and good quality. Busy on a Sunday night (when a lot of restaurants are closed) with mostly local patrons. Although it is a fairly big restaurant reservations are advisable.

We had a groupon voucher for Tokyo. We used the voucher(A few starters and platter of sushi) , had some drinks and wine. Completed everything and we were still pekish, so we decided to order some more food off the normal menu. . They have other sushi specials there on a Sunday, and when we wanted to order them, they... Sushi not great. Which is not a problem if you have other yummy dishes in store but sadly not so here. Also a tad hot - which does not help. Service is friendly and a little OTT. And what is up with the flies? TIP: Dont do it. Unless you really have to. No - still dont.
