You really have to find the turn-off to VegTable (especially in the dark!) but it is worthwhile. Owner cooks what he feels inspired to create on any particular evening, and then tells you what the five courses will be as you sit down. Strictly, strictly vegetarian

Brett at VegTable just gets better and better! This has got to be most inventive and delicious cooking on the Garden Route. How does he do it? Every time we go he produces even more exciting dishes and flavours. Yes - it's not cheap but it is true value for money. This is a special place to visit for a... More

A candle lit cabin in a rustic setting. Opens 3 times a week for dinner. All freshly prepared and foraged. 100% vegetarian. 4 delicious courses designed by Brett, the owner and inspiration of VegTable. You are assured of a warm welcome. BYO.

When we first came to SA we did not realise quite what wonderful food we were going to experience. We have been to a number of great restaurants around the Western Cape area, but here is now our "must visit" restaurant. For me, the highlight was a little heritage tomato salad, how Brett got so much flavour from so few,... More

Best food I have eaten in South Africa - such a warm atmosphere. Incredible dinner - well worth it. Brett really welcomes you into his home, it's incredible that all the food is cooked on a wood stove. We will be back again soon.

Words are not enough to share this experience. You must just go. Brett is a curious and enquiring chef. He reads Nigel,Slater in the bath. He forages for indigenous delicacies and serves up uniquely inovative dishes. The food is simply exquiste. Even so the atmosphere of Veg Table is not in the least pretentious. Food is the star of the... More

If you are looking for an unique culinary experience look no further than the Veg Table. Seasonal asparagus, dolmades made with first vine leaves, carrot fritters with young beets and apricots with homemade ice-cream ( this is just to wet your appetite). The unique setting in the indigenous forest just adds to the ambiance. Thank you Brett for sharing you... More

Possibly the best meal i have ever had! Cooked by a truly passionate chef. Surprisingly delicious food tasting experience. For proper food connoisseurs who love being surprised. Very personal service and attention directly from the chef, in a rustic forest cabin. This is a food journey you will do again!

No cell reception. Rustic and preety so food for the stomach but also the soul. Delicious especially the artichokes and the gnocchi which I had there for the first time. We will definitely be back !
