I was referred to this place by a friend. The staff was very nice though they speak very little English. The steak was filling and good but could've been seasoned a little more. The garlic potatoes were really good. The portion size was great because we shared. Try it.

Could not get into Don Julio and this looked a reasonable option. Very basic environs and service was good. The place was busy even early in the night with lots of tourists. The steak is large and was cooked to order but not the best I have had. The chimichurri sauce never turned up. The prices were reasonable but I... More

Went there for lunch as this place was recommended by a tour guide. The restaurant was busy, but I managed to get a seat. The steak was delicious but the side items with your entrée were priced separately which added up to be an expensive lunch/early supper. Service was attentive.

If there was many locals there, it must have been good and representative of argentina's restaurants. Meat and sausage far better than other pricey restaurants of San Telmo.

The prices, service and food are excellent. We went to eat twice here and I would directly go back when I'm in Buenos Aires.

Staying in San Telmo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Telmo
Characterized by cobblestones and narrow streets, San Telmo is defined by the tango, the dance that made Buenos Aires world-famous. Tango is a fusion of many different cultures: a true child of immigration, much like the city itself. Nowadays, it comes alive after dark in the milongas (dance parties) attended by both locals and visitors alike, who dance until the wee hours of the morning. During the day, the antique shops and classic cafés and bars around Plaza Dorrego dominate the scene. The emblematic Bar Plaza Dorrego, with its green awnings, checkered tile floors, and wooden interiors, takes you back in time the moment you step inside. For true porteño traditions, San Telmo is the place to be.
