We recently visited El Sanjuanino for a quick midday snack after spending some time in La Recoleta Neighborhood. Luckily we showed up just in time before the rush around 1:30pm and were able to secure a table. The beef empanadas and Sanjuanino salad was amazing and makes for a perfect pitstop if you are visiting La Recoleta Cemetery and Weekend... More

One of my favorite restaurants I've ever been. Budget travel or a fancier trip, this is a can't miss place. -Calling anything else an empanada feels wrong after eating at this place. It's empanadas were SO much better than any other I've ever had. -The other food was also delicious. Grilled provolone, gnochis, and more. -House wine is delicious and... More

Very cozy regional cuisine restaurant in Recoleta. It resembles a taberna in the mountains. Decorated with wine barrels displaying several funny sayings of the love of wine. " If lovers of wine and making love go to hell, the heaven should be empty". I had chilli empanadas with cold beer simply gorgeous. I did not have wine because the weather... More

This is my favorite restaurant in Buenos Aires, the food there is genuine and the thing there is not the empanadas only.. Try the traditional Indian style food like Locro and humita which are fabulous and also the stakes "bife the chorizo "look for any strange suggestion and I assure you That u will enjoy it....many years in any visit I... Evidently we missed something. Or a lot of things. It's certainly busy, mostly with locals apparently, which is the kind of place we love to frequent. But the food is mediocre and the service far worse. Actually, the service is probably close to the worst I have ever had in a great many years of international travel. It boggles my... More

Cute place to drop in for lunch. Food is nice but nothing special. Service is done with a smile which is nice for BA. Go for the atmosphere.

Amazing place, lively day and night. And the "empanadas" were outstanding. We have already been there in other trips to Buenos Ares and it is a place to not mis.

This is, for sure, the best place to eat empanadas in BA. The service is very good, specially considering the dreadful treatment you usually get in Argentina. The price is reasonable and totally worth it. We stopped by for lunch and dinner, both excellent experiences. At night, you will have to wait if you don't get there early, since it's... More

Staying in Recoleta

Neighbourhood Profile
Recoleta
Characterised by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighbourhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centred on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
