After reading many reviews and getting multiple recommendations from fellow travellers, I was really looking forward to experiencing all Don Julio's had to offer. I arrived with my friend without a reservation around 8pm, we were informed we would be waiting 30 minutes for a table. We had no issue with that and were about to go for a short... More

We recently visited Don Julio for dinner on a Saturday night. They do not take reservations after 9pm so we went expecting a long wait for a party of 4. Not only was the wait not as long as expected, but they made sure the guests were more than happy while waiting-serving complimentary champagne and appetizers out front. For a... More

Great place to choose for our last night in Argentina. Spend a little time getting a bit dressed up and spread a few bucks for a perfect dinner on the town. Delicious and reasonably priced. The place is packed and there's a crowd out front but they feed you appetizers and champaign while you wait and what's better than an... More

Perhaps it's too easy to give five stars? Not much wrong with this place but didn't quite leave me thinking "I don't care to try other steak places, this is the best and I will be back tomorrow!". That said, if I was taken back there tomorrow, I wouldn't complain. I went with the family and we couldn't choose which... More

My father in-law invited us for dinner. Outstanding meat quality. The bife-de-chorizo and ojo-de-bife melted like "butter" in our mouth. The provoletta entre is delicious. The service is great. We have a 5 months old baby and a 2 y.o. girl. The waiters brought her dinner right away. We came a bit early (7pm-ish) and were lucky to get seats.... More

Don Julio is a parilla a type of restaurant beloved by locals which are are famed for their quality steaks and wines simply but expertly cooked. As someone who does not eat much red meat I was slightly apprehensive but thought if I was going to re-aquaint myself with steak this was the place to do it. Don Julio deserves... More

This is not fine dining but we had a totally superb dinner at Don Julio. Relatively small restaurant with some outdoor tables on the pavement. Rustic and very charming. You come here for the steaks and these are superb and excellently prepared. One in our group had a steak that was fried a little bit too much. We within minutes... More

Amazingly I visited Don Julio back in 2010 and have just been reminded of the place as a friend is visiting Buenos Aires. I went with a group of 5 people staying at the hostel I was in. I'd headed down to visit a friend who was travelling while working in Brasil and had been suggested the place by a... More

Staying in Palermo

Neighbourhood Profile
Palermo
Best known as the largest neighbourhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favourite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
