We went there as part of a food walking tour. Lovely ambiance as it still looks original from 100 years ago. Our guide knew the staff so we didn't order ourselves but the food and wine were excellent. If we had time we would have...More

Arriving in Buenos Aires, we had a nice dinner at El Federal. Nice atmosphere, an awesome service by the waiter and a wonderful plate of picadas. We can also recommend the pancakes as postres.

Lovely old fashioned bar where we had lunch on a Saturday: relaxing ambiance, nice freshly brewed beer. Hamburger was good, I don't recommend the Gran federal appetizer - not great quality of products (leberwurst, cheese were really not special..)

I love coming to Bar El Federal. In Argentina, when you order an aperitif, it comes with chips, peanuts and small snacks. For 75 pesos more, you can get an assortment of sliced meats to accompany it. The service at Bar El Federal is fantastic!...More

San Telmo
Characterized by cobblestones and narrow streets, San
Telmo is defined by the tango, the dance that made
Buenos Aires world-famous. Tango is a fusion of many
different cultures: a true child of immigration, much
like the city itself. Nowadays, it comes alive after
dark in the milongas (dance parties) attended by both
locals and visitors alike, who dance until the wee
hours of the morning. During the day, the antique
