Most of the restaurants in BA don't know what vegetables are. Cabrera provided lots of little side-dishes including chorizo sausages, sauteed eggplant, creamed corn, spinach, condiments + many unidentified goodies. A decent glass of wine came with. We had the executive lunch as we always do. A bit pricey at 375 Pesos, but worth it. It even came with a... More

We had short ribs and rib eye with arugala salad. It was truly a memorable experience. The meat was cooked perfectly, it was paired beautifully with the wine recommended by our host. The atmosphere was perfectly Buenos Aires. Overall, it was a bit on the expensive side but well worth it because it was a wonderful evening that will be... More

I hadn't been to La Cabrera in several years. But I returned last month after a friend of mine from the United States, who was in town with a big group, suggested we go there after his fellow traveller recommended it. In 2006-2007 it was "The Steakhouse". But now, though the cuts of meat weren't bad and neither were the... More

I've been to this restaurant or the location across the street a number of times in the last five years and found that it was a great place to go for dinner. However tonight it was a big disappointment. The caprese salad was very good. But what was different from the other times was the meat. We were a large... More

I stumbled upon this place because it was around the corner from my hotel. Nice white table cloths and attentive waiters, but in a quirky pub. Huge portions with tons of complimentary sides.

We had a nice lunch here. Our waiter was fabulous . . . he helped us make good choices from a broad menu. The dining room has an interesting look and feel . . . it's a combo of classic and kitschy, but it has a ton of character.

Be sure to make a reservation! Really nice place, excellent food and service. Argentinians use to eat late at dinner, so have a beer near the place and then go to the restaurant.

We went for my wife's birthday on 25 December 2016 with a group of 8 (Three of them locals). Six ordered Bife de Lomo. It was bad meat quality (sinue in it) and cooked badly (there's a difference between medium-rare and well-done). Some pieces were definitely not Bife de Lomo. Restaurant extremly full and packed; you have more space in... More

After all of the great reviews, we were really looking forward to this restaurant. The food, however, was pretty disappointing. Most of the steaks were very tough and not particularly tasty. A few of the steaks were also overcooked. All in all, there have to be much better steakhouses in Buenos Aires than this.

The restaurant is busy and has a good atmosphere, but is very formulaic and average in terms of food. We had an aged on bone steak and sweet breads. Steak was ok, nothing special, and not very aged. Sweetbreads were very good - half porti n would have been enough for two people. The main courses come with several impressive... More

Staying in Palermo

Neighbourhood Profile
Best known as the largest neighbourhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favourite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
