They only take cash, the great waiter Carlos looks like Che.😀 The tapas menu is great, but the rabbit pate tapas dish is sensational melt in the mouth. All reasonably priced too.

This was the best part of my stay in San Telmo. The food was really delicious and the waiters were solicitous...and kind enough to try and translate the mains and dessert menu into English for me. The oro de bite (ribeye steak) was great, but by far the star of the show was the Passion fruit mousse. This is probably... More

two weeks ago, we were looking for a place to have lunch in San Telmo as my son was working downtown. She had a reference of this place from some friends. When we arrive the place was full, but we could find two seats at the bar. The place is a typical "bodegon" of buenos aires, noisy, tables very closed... More

It was to much publicity.... was not what I was expected, the food to highand expensive $100.00 without wine for a B Aires Restaurant, no meats on the menu, only fish, pasta among others. the only good was the creme Brule!! I ask for a salmon and was full of green salads with no flavor, We where 4 and ask... More

First off, I gotta say, if you're planning to go for dinner or on a weekend, plan ahead and make a reservation. The food is worth it, but the demand is way too high to expect getting a table without a reservation, unless it's early on a weekday at lunchtime. THe food is AMAZING and everyone is really friendly.

Delicious as well....but the starters we ordered, only 3 between 4 were enough to fill us! Probably no need to mains, but we ate them anyway 😀 had a nice glass of red and it was a near perfect long lunch on a sunny afternoon in Buenos Aires! Great little spot! Almost forgot the bread was amazing too.....

What initially caught my eye was the store front where there were several articles from various food magazines and publications featuring the chef (or owner, not sure). The service was quick and the food was amazing! The staff seemed to be enjoying themselves and took great care of us. I would definitely recommend this place to anybody in Buenos Aires.

Second time at this restaurant. We were there 3 years ago, and had a great time. We decided to have lunch again during our last trip in March 2016. We arrived there for a late lunch, and it was our impression that the waiter was in a hurry to close shop. Anyway, we tried to order an appetizer to which... More

We had lunch there completely by accident. Looked good & we ventured in. We are pretty used to places where staff are "too cool for school" & we usually laugh at it. However the proviso to having this much attitude, is that your food is so good that the memory of staff obnoxiousness instantly fades. Sorry guys but there are... More

Staying in San Telmo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Telmo
Characterized by cobblestones and narrow streets, San Telmo is defined by the tango, the dance that made Buenos Aires world-famous. Tango is a fusion of many different cultures: a true child of immigration, much like the city itself. Nowadays, it comes alive after dark in the milongas (dance parties) attended by both locals and visitors alike, who dance until the wee hours of the morning. During the day, the antique shops and classic cafés and bars around Plaza Dorrego dominate the scene. The emblematic Bar Plaza Dorrego, with its green awnings, checkered tile floors, and wooden interiors, takes you back in time the moment you step inside. For true porteño traditions, San Telmo is the place to be.
