While in Buenos Aires I went twice to this cozy restaurant. The first time I had the pork and beef Terrine with a sweet sauce on top. The flavor and the aroma was out of this world. The second time I had a salmon salad, I can't remember the name of it, but, the combination of flavors was amazing. (See... More

Small little place very cozy with a peculiar decor, not my taste, few tables so reservarions are mandatory, kind of snobish, not cheap neither expensive with a very small menu offering little choice. No wine cellar, as a matter of fact they could offer only two varieties of a red, one sparkling (local) and one white from none of the... More

This sweet little place is simply not for everyone. The menu is wall mounted and handwritten; the food is simply delicious. A guest needs to be tolerant of a variety that shifts from day to day ... if a friend liked Felix on Tuesday, the experience is likely to be different of Thursday. One can accept that ... or not.... This place is really cool. The best way I can describe it is that it's small, eclectic, and dominated by relatively wealthy locals. It's probably not for everyone as there are only 7 or so dishes (written on a mirror on the wall) but if you're into a not-so-ordinary dining experience amongst people who live locally, this is the place.... Surely a small bistro with an argentine soul. Feel at easy to follow their suggestions and available wines: nothing fancy, but genuine and usually tasteful. Better yet if you are in a "make friends" mood.

This was a total deception. A small place, with a fixed menu, that for Buenos Aires, is not uncommon. But to have ugly presented dishes on a Fixed Menu, 5 different options, the incompetence should be high. On top, is expensive. To order wine is like a blind date. You know the price with the check. And the wines are... More

We discovered La Olla de Felix on one of our first visits to BA and we make it a point to always return. Being just around the corner from the Poetry Building lends to the coming home charm of this wonderfully quaint and quirky little bistro. Both lunch and dinner choices are written on a mirror, and it is best... More

The restaurante has a very cozy atmoshpere. The decoration is an eclectic gathering of collectibles pieces of porcelain and beatiful dishware. Felix, the owner is always around, usualy sittin gin one table near you with some of his diners friends. There is no menu, you an pick from a choice of five main dishes out of a chalk board. Food... Located on a quiet street in Recoleta with about ten tables. You have to knock for admission. Menu is written on a mirror and is five or six main courses. They have a red and a white wine, your choice. They also have a bottle of Fernet and a couple of desserts. Food is sublime and service is friendly. Owner... More

Staying in Recoleta

Neighbourhood Profile
Recoleta
Characterised by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighbourhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centred on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
