After going on the city tour we stopped here to have a bite to eat. Service was friendly, but the food was average. We had a couple empanadas and mussels. Not bad, just not great. Very close to the cemetery so it's location is a bit touristy. Reasonably priced and is clean.

We like the location and the setting: a nice outside terrace in the middle of Recoleta. We had a very good green salad, but after that service slowed down and we waited almost an hour for our ojos de bife: 2 steaks. The kitchen sent us 2 empanadas to sooth us, but we never got an explanatio why we had... More

Located in the Recolata district, this felt to us like an authentic Argentinian restaurant. It was crowded with locals (we didn't see many obvious tourists) and had a great buzz. You can sit outside or in the large air-conditioned pub-style restaurant festooned with horse racing memorabilia. We chose indoors to escape the heat. The service is friendly and professional, and... Felt like a tourist trap area, decided to try it anyway. The service was slow compared to other restaurants in Buenos Aires, and the food didn't meat the standards we became used to. Large variety of food on the menu, and a location close to the cemetery if you are hungry after visiting Evita's Tomb. Pizza was a bad choice... More

Ruccola and parmesan salad is Ruccola and some other soft cheese. Oil is not olive oil and the vinegar was the cheapest vinegar so the poor quality of the ingedients at these prices was dissapointing. Expected at the walls of the cemetery where thy have AA captive market of tourists.

We had a warm welcome from our waiter Rafael. Our choice was for sirloin steak for 2 with potatoe fries. There were no vegetable to accompany the meal. One piece of beef was fine, nice and succulent. However my piece was rather chewy with about 25% fat. The service was ok.

We decided to stop here for a quick bite after walking round the cemetery which is just opposite. We had empanadas, a bottle of Malbec and some chips. It was sunny so we sat outside but the interior is great. The portions of the steak etc looked very substantial and tasty. It was very busy for a Friday lunchtime mainly... More

Chose it simply because it was crowded ( thought that might mean it was good)and it was near to our hotel. We did not check reviews or ask the conceirge for recommendations as is typical for us. The first bad sign really was the "hawking " by employees outside and a hostess that looked like a "street walker ". We... More

Staying in Recoleta

Neighbourhood Profile
Characterised by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighbourhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centred on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
