We stopped here after attending a walking tour of La Boca. We were hot and tired. We stopped here because the guy seemed nice. We had the La Barrica plate share. This plate had 4 very tender pieces of beef with bacon and Madeira sauce. It came with two sides. We chose fries and sautéed veggies. The beef was more... More

First time in Boca and we saw some tango dancing and we wanted to see. We got seated right away and everyone was so friendly and joked with us. Food was amazing and people were friendly. I ordered the tortilla de papa and it was amazing.

Everything in La Boca is touristy, but this little place located right on the corner of everything and everything offers very tasty sandwiches and a non-stop tango show. What more do you need? If you're hungry in La Boca, stop by this place for surprisingly good food.

The tango was fun to watch but the food was average and the service was spotty. 3.5/5 stars, I would recommend if you have to eat in the area

Having lived in Argentina I was very wary about stopping for a meal in such a touristy place... however I am so glad we did! There were 17 of us in total on a school trip from the UK and the truth is, it is the best meal we have had since arriving 2 weeks ago... service was great, the... More

Very quaint street, good meats and good service. Lovely in the sunshine, easy to get a taxi to and from! Bocca football stadium just around the corner as well for those football fans.

This are is touristy but is a must. This restaurant has tables outside in the sidewalk. They have a couple dancing tango and had a duo of guitar player. So very enjoyable. I had langostinos and my wife the bife chorizo. It was all very good.

We were offered a quality traditional Asado Argentino at a reasonable price, not too cheap. We accepted and were, unfortunately served a dish with a variety of over cooked meats, dry and tasteless. We probably should have known not too expect too much in this side of Buenos Aires, but still we were disappointed in the quality, I really cannot... More

La Boca is very turistic so it is hard to count for anything authentic. But this place seems to be still visited by some locals. The proces are very risonable. Service is nice. Food is more international or italian but good too. I had a fresh salat for the price of a salad from supermarkets. on sundey tango shows are... More

Staying in La Boca

Neighbourhood Profile
La Boca
A neighbourhood defined by its immigrant roots, La Boca still maintains this past alive in its streets today. Due to its proximity to the river, the neighbourhood became the preferred settling area for immigrants of a wide variety of origins, who ended up living together in the conventillos. Thus, these houses became a melting pot of different cultures and traditions that birthed creations like tango and lunfardo. Nowadays, this legacy can be seen and felt on Caminito Street, which welcomes visitors with colourful facades, cobblestones, and street artists showcasing their skills. Just like its neighbor San Telmo, La Boca is one of the prime destinations to experience the traditions and customs that originated from the city’s immigrant past and which have shaped its distinct identity.
