Lunch entrees for 2 with a bottle of wine was about $80 with a generous tip. The shaded patio was not crowded and service was good once we were noticed. The portions were dinner sized and good but not remarkable. The wine sauce for the steak (served medium) was on the sweet side. This was our last meal of the... More

Went here on a business trip with a colleague. We had just arrived from a long flight from Switzerland on a Sunday. Took a cab to City Central, and this place looked pleasant. No one was there when we arrived, then 2 other parties came in. We are English speakers. I HAVE READ THIS ON OTHER REVIEWS - BEWARE BUENOS... More

We had a really good experience the first time we went here and the service and food was great but the second visit left us feeling that we may have been ripped off. Again food and service was good but the bill came to much more than we expected and it was only after we walked away that we felt... More

Staying in Montserrat

Neighbourhood Profile
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighbourhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
