Delicious empanadas! We really liked the dough. We tried all four types (carne picante, carne suave, pollo, & queso). Friendly staff as well.

I stepped in for lunch and tasted the "huaschalocro", which is maybe the sole typical dish without meat. It was exceptionally good! The waitress was very kind and the restaurant was cozy. I liked I could peep in a corridor how the cooks were preparing the empanadas. Very nice place and good food. Recommendable!

Food and prices are ok. The famous Empanadas are average, compared to other places in the region. The menu is quite limited and depending on the hour, you may not get everything annouced

Excellent empanadas, good wine and the best locro. Prices are more than convenient Value for service and food. Menu in Spanish and English

We arrived in Salta late at night on a Sunday, and the hotel personnel directed us to La Criollita for a quick bite. We ordered empanadas (cheese and traditional salteñas), and they were delicious, not fried, warm and well filled. That's all we had for our late dinner and it was right what we needed. Great prices.

We came to this restaurant thinking that it would be homestyle cooking with more reasonable prices. Ordered a milanesa napolitana which was poorly executed. The empanadas were really good actually. The bill was the same as any other restaurant, including more touristy ones! We were surprised by this.

This is clearly a local diner, with whacky, tacky décor and really good, basic regional food. You aren't going to find any salads or stacks or drizzles, but they have good empanadas and humitas. We loved the stews and soups. They don't have many wine choices but, oddly, this was one of the only restaurants in Salta that had fine... More

We went to La Criollita on a Saturday afternoon just 5 minutes before closing time, which is 3.30 pm. We had empanadas with pollo, carne and cheese. All were the best we had so far!

We wanted to try a local restaurant and went to La Criollita. Service wasn't bad at all, but with all respect the hygienic standards in this restaurant and its kitchen ( by coincidence one among us was able to have a look in the kitchen) happens to be "different" and we were "remembered" to that the following day (no details....)....
