Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great food and nice restaurant. Location is a little hidden so be patient to find the place. Staff is very friendly. Only note would be that fries had a lot of salt. Try the pear juice.

This was the best steak we have had in our first 10 days in Argentina. Martín was a fabulous, patient waiter who explained everything in detail. None of us were big on the “organ” appetizers. However, one ribeye fed 2 easily and the filet was...very tender. . Trout was simply cooked with lemon and also very good. One salad and one order of vegetables easily fed 2 people. The passion fruit desert was well made and not overpowering. Wine selection was also extensive. We ate at the location at the train station and were very happy with the overall experience and price. A taxi stand is 100 m away to get you back. I’d definitely eat here again.More

Delicious food. Very knowledgeable staff. Florencia was amazing in her knowledge of both the foods and wines. Great service too. Julian (aka Toro) is fantastic on grilling. I believe it is quieter at lunch and it has the same great (not inexpensive) menu and pricing...at lunch.More

There are two locations of this top rated restaurant in Bariloche. The location in Centro town does not take reservations. There was a 60 minute wait for four people at 8 PM on a Friday night. The other location, which is the original one, is...located next to the train station ( the station is inactive now with the exception of tourist dinner excursions) and takes reservations. We had no problem securing an 8:30pm reservation for four. You have your choice of 6 beef options, each of which, are designed for two people. Our group of four split the flat iron (strongly recommended by our server) and the rib eye. We all preferred the rib eye. The side dishes are excellent. We enjoyed the potatoes with egg and onion (don’t be shy with this one - it’s excellent) and the fresh vegetables. Service was great. Very nice wine list.More

They offer a good selection of Argentinian meats and wines. The staff will give you good suggestions based on what you are looking for to make sure you order enough (and not a lot!) food. The meat is just delicious and served on point. Even...the vegetables were amazing at this placeMore

We have had meals at both locations. Both locations have excellent service and wonderful food. These have been the best places we have eaten in Bariloche. We will eat at the train station location again before we leave. Absolutely recommend having dinner at either location...but prefer the ambiance at the train station location and Martine gave excellent service and advice.More

Pros:The bife de chorizo was decent but fell short of being the best we've tasted on our journey. Cons: Overpriced venue catering primarily to tourists; locals were notably absent during our visit. Overrated establishment that failed to live up to its reputation. Reservation system creates...a false sense of scarcity; arriving without a reservation still results in a table assignment. The Patagonian lamb was subpar, featuring undercooked sections and a tough texture. Unpleasant experience with a recommended Pinot Noir – poor quality and expensive, raising suspicions of waiter commissions. Payment process was problematic; they refused our $20 USD bills, and service charge was included in the bill – a first for us during our trip to Argentina. In conclusion, I do not recommend Alto el Fuego. Bariloche undoubtedly offers superior dining options without the inflated prices, disappointing dishes, and inconvenient payment experiences we encountered at this establishment.More

Amazing steak, great wine list and good service. A bit cocky upon arrival ( they dont have reservation and altough i explained that my partner was parking the car, they made me wait prior enter to place despite my willingness to queue) We can notice...their anxiety for us to leave the table once we finish eating even when we are still drinking as tha place sits probalby 13-15 tables. My steak was a bit rare but they were fine to cook more, fries couñd be light in colour but the break and chimichurri are definately to die for. One of the best options in BarilocheMore

Service: friendly, exempt with the waiting list Food: heavenly Atmosphere: small and cozy, open kitchen Location: fine Price: very reasonable for the quality you receive Wifi: available and good Dear TripAdvisor can we rank this one 5 stars plus please? Their food, and especially their...steak, is heavenly delicious. We had a lot of steaks in Argentina, but this one was far out one of the best. One of the few places you can order some vegetables, something we also liked. Expect a queue if you don’t have a reservation, but you want to wait for this one. The guy was not so friendly with us in relation to the waiting list. We had waited for more than one our and came back. Then he was telling us to wait longer because others were first even though our names were higher on the list. Having said that, the rest of the staff was super friendly. Very decently priced. Overall we loved this place and it’s a reward after a long day of walking!More

Without exaggerating, I can say this was the best steak I've ever had in my entire 77-year life! My friend and I had a reservation, and when we arrived the restaurant was empty! We thought we were just clueless Americans who eat too early, but,...pretty soon, the small, charming space was filled with more people waiting. We had absolutely delicious steak, salad and excellent Malbec. Highly recommend if you are in Bariloche.More
