I've been to Porvoo a couple of times and visited some really good restaurants and coffee shops. This time we were on the way to another café where we'd been before, when we passed Helmi and decided to give it a try. When we opened the door and saw the cozy interior I asked myself how I had missed this... More

The charming vintage interior is just as you would expect in a wooden house in Porvoo. Every room is filled with knick knacks and lifesize dolls. Good but very expensive cakes. My coffee was lukewarm.

Climb up a couple of stairs and you'll find yourself in a lovely old coffee house. They serve many different kind of delicious cakes with coffee/tea. Tidy indoors and at the back there is a lovely garden. One having difficulties with stairs can go through neighbouring gate to the garden..from there to the coffee house.

The place is worth seeing! Beautiful historic vibes. If the weather allows, I'd suggest you enjoy your coffee outside on the terrace. Variety of cakes and other delicious-looking sweet stuff is almost overwhelming. Would be nice of there were more gluten-free options available though.

This place was so cute, wth an old-fashioned style. There was old French music, old pictures, a statue of a man who looked like Martin Landau. And the cake (apple and cinnamon with vanilla cream) was really good. A perfect place to take a break.

Lovely little cafe in Old Town. Very welcoming interior, full of charm. I especially loved the pictures on the way and all the knick knacks! The coffee and cakes were delicious and especially nice that you can get the famous Runeberg cake here year round! Definitely an highlight of our first Porvoo visit.
