On a recent visit to Ireland, we had the pleasure of stopping at Dan's Cafe in Carlingford. By far, the best service, best specialty coffees, & best scones all trip! Wonderful cappuccino & lattes. Out of this world scones (try the raspberry, white chocolate). Wonderful, attentive service. A "not-to-be-missed" in a beautiful Irish village.

My wife and I have been going to Dan's for our breakfast almost every week for the last couple of years. We've always enjoyed all aspects from the meal to the service without complaint. Unfortunately the last two visits have been very disappointing. They must have changed suppliers cause the bacon is no other word for it horrible . The... More

Friendly local cafe with a warm staff. Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. Try the Brie, Grape and Cranberry sandwaich. Unusual and tasty.

Nice wee spot and good value , Not like some places in the village. Food was ok and the first coffee was nice . I dont understand topping up your coffee from a flask when its a bean to cup coffee you get at the start. Most customers seemed to like it though

Went for a light lunch on Saturday. This cafe is central in the main square. Pretty small inside so you might have to wait on a table but we got one ok. We had a toastie and baked potatoe both really nice and really reasonably priced (some places in Carlingford milk the tourist market and hike the prices up!) service... More

On a regular basis when I drop into Carlingford I always call into Dan's. It is small but very pleasant as the staff go out of the way to welcome you and look after you. Dan(the owner) himself is a friendly individual and a wealth of information on the local area as he has lived lived there all his life.

Not to mention a the delicious traditional Irish breakfast we enjoyed the next day. The staff invited you in and treated you like you were family. We soon made it a habit to take... More
